The Bulls are a really bad fit with the Magic IMO. The Gasol/Bynum-Howard/Arenas keeps making too much sense to me.

Would LA be willing to do that? If I'm the Magic I'd prefer to get back younger, healthier talent but you'd probably have to take that offer and live in NBA mediocrity for the next 7 years.

Im not calling it a year left but regardless if the win it all...

Offseason objectives:

Rose improves mid range jumper off the dribble. I really could care less if he shoots better threes.

Noah gets a foul line jumper and works on his game 'under' the basket. He does well dribbling and slashing.

Get a shooting guard like the ones mentioned, this is the biggest roster flaw IMO. Bulls are going to need to go through Miami and Korver isnt an asset against them.

If I'm LA, I'm not so sure about the deal. Losing Gasol and Bynum would really hurt LA and I'm not so sure it makes them that much better in the near term, even getting Howard. Maybe in a few years, but the window is closing for Kobe. And getting Arenas back would hurt.

LA reminds me a lot of the Yankees right now. Willing to go for the big gun, but where are the trading chips? Bynum is the only guy on the team who you would consider a really tradeable asset.

And I disagree that the Bulls couldn't put together a decent offer for Howard. They have some young players not making tons of money and draft picks.

Taj Gibson is the only tradeable commodity who doesn't make a lot of money (I don't buy that Asik has much trade value) and the draft picks are all really high with the exception of the Charlotte pick which is lottery protected in '12, and somewhat protected all the way until 2016) I just don't think Noah/Gibson is enough of a centerpiece.

The Yankees have one of the best farm systems in baseball

Holy [expletive]! How did I not notice that in real time?

I didn't either, and neither did anyone on the Bulls bench.

I noticed and posted about it.

#humblebrag

Yeah, I noticed it too (didn't post it but I wasn't near a computer till the bitter end). But it got to the point where I was seeing Lebron travel on every play and I'm guessing he didn't travel nearly as much as my eyes thought he did.

Why do people think Jamal Crawford is going to solve anything?

he's better than Keith Bogans

The biggest gripe we have heard about the Bulls is that they don't have a guy who can create his own shot and Crawford can definitely do that.

I love Jason Richardson and have been advocating him all year, but at the same time he didn't really impress me with Orlando. But then again, Orlando doesn't have a guard like Rose to draw defenses away from him.

He's a FA this year, he can at least be average on defense, but I'd bet he'd do well in Thibs defense, he can create his shot and score with the best of them, outside and slashing.

I'd be willing to do that deal a lot more if the Magic took back Ron Artest. Losing Gasol and Bynum wouldn't hurt the starting lineup at all because Odom would be the PF but the bench would be even worse than last year since Odom would be starting.

He's a bad defender and only a 41% career shooter. He's fine as a sixth man type, but he's not good enough to put the Bulls over the top.

Even though the Bulls haven't played up to their potential this series, they don't need much at all to put them over the top. The Bulls had plenty of chances to win this series. They don't need an All Star to put them over the top. Crawford is not a great defender, but the Bulls don't really have great individual defenders on this team. It is about the system.

Cant remember. Did he look THIS bad?

2/6 games he looked to have bad games. So far Drose is 3/4.

So that's the threshold for "psyche-damaging?"

Not sure what you're getting at, but Rose has immense pressure in his hometown and this will be a long offseason for the young guy.

What I'm getting at is your ridiculous idea that having three bad games against the Heat in the ECF is going to "damage his psyche." What good or great players DON'T have humbling losses like this? It's part of developing into a better player when you're as young as him.

I'm pretty sure at one point I saw him pick up his dribble, then take a big step and come to a full jump stop at the top of the key, followed by a jump shot... but it isn't worth complaining about because NBA refs just don't call traveling unless they absolutely have to.

Asik has a fractured left fibula.

And Thibs has a fractured brain if Kurt Thomas doesn't play tonight.

I wonder if it's a fear that Thomas is too old to handle Bosh? I can't imagine why he wouldn't see any tick otherwise.

Going back to the Bulls Howard discussion: I was screwing around on Trade Machine this morning, the best deal I can come up with for the Magic: (obviously draft picks could be added)

Noah

Gibson

Asik

Bogans

Brewer

Lucas

Pargo

for

Howard

It can be touched up a little involving Watson instead of Asik/Bogans, and Lucas needs to come and go in different iterations, but this looked to be the best talent to Orlando I could find. I don't think that gets it done. I really think if Orlando is trading Howard, they're making a team take on Arenas or Hedo, I don't trade Dwight otherwise if I'm them.

What about the infamous Charlotte pick?

I imagine the Charlotte pick would have to be included (plus maybe a Bulls or Heat pick, but really they don't have much value), but as I said it's partially protected up until 2016.

Assuming all the same CBA rules, if done after July 1st, Bulls could do:

Joakim Noah

Kyle Korver

Ronnie Brewer

C.J. Watson

Omer Asik

Keith Bogans

Jonh Lucas III

For

Howard and Hedo

(strictly from cap standpoint)

The part that makes it most difficult is Noah's BYC status next year (or Poison Pill this year if you were trying to trade before July 1st). If it wasn't for the BYC, you could sub in Arenas for Hedo and do the deal by adding Pargo also.

So you could manage taking on Hedo, but its still not happening.
