2011 NBA Playoffs Thread

1. I wish the Bulls would have gotten a game against the Heat officiating how tonights game was. That was brutal and heavily in favor of the Mavs.

 

2. The Heat's half court offense is so pathetic for how many great players they have on that team. I don't know if that's poor coaching or overrating of the players.

 

3. The Mavs need to shoot better to win. I don't want to hear about how good the Heat defense is. The Mavs had a ton of open shots and just missed them. I believe the same could be said about the Bulls series (outside of when LeBron locked down Rose in the 4th quarters).

He's so nonathletic and awkward looking. It hurts my eyes watching him play basketball. And as amusing as JJ Barea is to watch, he pisses me off by missing so many layups. He almost looks like Rondo out there.

Marion did play solid defense and was arguably their best player in the first two games.

Overall, no. But last night was Wade's night to finish off a close game. They were clearly running the offense through him.

1. True. Hilarious. Almost like they were trying to make up for the no backcourt violation on the Chalmers 3 the rest of the game.

 

2. 100% true. I've been saying this the entire thread, and the Bulls thread. The Heat win with defense and a ton of their offense comes from fast breaks or FT's. In the half-court, they are pedestrian. Maybe its because they lack a post player. It's certainly not Wade's fault. But this is why I've been saying LeBron is overrated. He can pass, play defense, finish on the fast break. But his ability to score in the half court, arguably the most important trait a player can have, is far from worthy of being one of the best players ever. Imagine if that guy had a clue in the post. (And no, those prayers he heaved up against the Bulls don't count. Lucky bastard) It would be ridiculous.

 

3. I think Miami must deserve some credit. The Bulls couldn't hit any open shots either. Either Miami has been getting lucky all playoffs with other teams missing shots, or their defense has something to do with it. Maybe its a combination.

Still, it seems as if Miami is consistently hitting jumpers and the other teams are just missing. Miami has been living off jump shots. If its not a fast break, its usually a jumper. And its not just the big 3. It's Bibby, Miller, Chalmers. Because we've already established that their half court offense sucks.

 

 

Go Mavs. Still have a shot. But the Heat are good frontrunners.

Jason Kidd is a liability. They need to get him off the floor pronto.

 

Also, too, Tyson Chandler needs to do something offensively.

This is unreal. Dallas has missed like 80 wide open shots in a row and is still somehow clinging to the lead with 30 secs left. Neither team deserves this one. Hopefully Miami deserves it less.
