What's up with IU not shooting any 3's? That's odd.

When you lose a deadeye shooter like Verdell Jones you have to make do.

Roth is ridiculous from 3, and Watford and Hulls are good too. Instead Oladipo is attacking the rim at a 1-11 clip.

Wisconsin's doing the same gameplan as last time. Guard the 3 point line tightly, force IU to drive past them, and then either play good defense at the rim or hope for no calls. IU only attempted 8 3's in the first game.

Smart's philosophy sounds identical to Mike Anderson's. It's a lot of fun when it's working, but unless he implements a functioning half-court offense, there's going to be a lot of frustrating nights. Even wins will take their toll on you.

Every team that presses at some point in a game is not a Mike Anderson clone. Smart's fastest tempo team was slower than Anderson's slowest.

I didn't say they were, but the effectiveness of their defenses rely on the same principles, and their vulnerabilities (rebounding) are also similar. Even if Smart runs a slower tempo on offense, the way VCU loses isn't that much different than the way Missouri lost under Anderson.

Scoring less points than the other team?

How many VCU losses have you seen?

Who the hell is Rob Wilson?

Seriously.

Who in the hell are any Indiana players not named Zeller?

Seriously.

Enjoy the tourney.

I will, enjoy your quick visit.

It took Rob Wilson 3.8 years to figure out how to play college basketball, but these past 3 weeks and today will give him enough feeder to tell stories to his future grandkids

Somebody's obviously never heard of Gary Harris.

I know he's gonna be the best Hoosier ever. Better even than Indiana school boy legend Isaiah Thomas.

You did just lose Verdell though, that's gonna help you out a lot.

Oh well. I'll take that level of play from Indiana every game. That was one of their best 5 played games of the year (probably better than both Kentucky and Ohio State). Just got beat by a guy who was on fire.

Why do teams even take jumpshots against Iowa? It's pretty easy to score inside all day on them.

This game is about to get really ugly.

It looks that way. They are shooting a high percentage because of dunks and layups and everyone they miss they get the rebound and another dunk or layup. I hope Woodbury is ready to be Iowa's only post player with size.

Not concerned about them inside next year. Olaseni will be improved and has all the tools to at least be a good interior defender and rebounder. Add in Meyer, Woodbury and you've got 3 decent options inside at least on that end and the boards. Basabe and White can both get you spot minutes at the 5 but along with McCabe all can play the 4.

Oh well. Look forward to Sunday night and see how things shake out. I think Indiana will be a 4 and I don't think the NCAA will be able to resist putting them in UNC's bracket. No guarantee they would make to the S16 though.

I hope Shaka Smart takes the job and turns into the Ron Zook of basketball coaches. Or is that was Bruce was?

You'd know a crappy hire. Steve Alford, Todd Lickliter, Fran Mc....

Fran looks like he knows what he's doing. The other 2 guys, not so much.

It's early.

Considering the state of the program when he took over, things are pretty damn encouraging on the floor and the recruiting trail.

You might be in with Marquette too. Although they might like battling brothers more than coach vs. old school.

Remember when Alford beat UCONN and had a ton of talent coming?

Jordan Taylor did play terribly though.
