With Wood and Marmol both working the past two days the decision to use Marshall for only one batter is even more stupid.

Wanted to get a righty-righty matchup even though that was negated because Arizona sent in a lefty PH after the switch was announced to face the RH Mateo.

Quade wants to be able to use Marshall to protect a slim lead tomorrow since, provided that this lead is protected, Wood and Marmol could be used for a 3rd day in a row. Meaning the burden would fall on Marshall to close.

Also, not a big deal, but he just had Fuk bat all day against a lefty then pulled him for Colvin with the lefty at 90 pitches (edit: wait, he'd already been pinch hit for)

A startling amount of overthinking here. You were facing Parra/Nady/Bloomquist, let Marshall mow the schmucks down and be done with it. Or better yet, play your matchup games with someone else so you can use Marshall later and not use the two most fragile elbows in your pen for 3 straight cold, April days to start the season.
