The birds came. Byrd had a tough time catching Upton's ball in center for the final out because of a flock of seagulls flying around the outfield. He had to crouch low to pick up the white ball among the white birds.

"It looked like they were going to hit a ball, but you have to play the elements," Byrd said.

THIS IS THE ESSENCE OF BASEBALL, NERDS!

lol, this is how AZsnakepit.com starts their blog entry:

Playing the Cubs is pretty much the ultimate no-win scenario, especially in Wrigley. I mean, worst case scenario, we lose the game. Best case scenario, we still have to spend time thinking about the Cubs. Ugh.

I didn't know the DBacks fans randomly hated us. It's not our fault you can't fill your park.

Judging by the crowds so far, neither can we

Was at the game today and the actual attendance seemed more like 15,000 or so. I was expecting a small crowd but that was surprising. The gulls were ruthless in the outfield, especially late. Some drunk guy fell over the railing where it gets higher out in RF down the 1st base line. The 7th inning bullpen moves were odd but it was fun to see Kerry get out of the jam in the 8th. The wind killed those shots by Geo and Soriano in the 8th, I thought they were both definitely gone.

I lost respect for the D-backs when they brought out a Bartman lookalike in the 2007 NLDS.

I can't remember the last time we played a monday day game that wasn't opening day.

Yea day games on a Mon, Tues, or Weds haven't happened at home for quite a while. Usually Mon-Weds are night games, and Thurs-Sun are day games when playing at home.

There's a night game in May on a Saturday. That one shocked me, I know it's a nationally televised game but when is the last time the Cubs played a home night game on a Friday or Saturday.

The last time we did that was never ever ever. How cool!

In April, most if not all the weekday games are day games.

Yup every year. Especially in the first homestand of the season. I think last year their first homestand was 6 games, and 5 were during the day, maybe all 6.
