So when do we fire McCarthy?

Oh wait...

I might just be coming around on the fat guy.

I get pissed at his play calling sometimes (er a lot of times) but let's face it. When you get to the Super Bowl you did something right. When you get to the Super Bowl after injuries to some very key players you definitely did something right.

The hat is pretty awesome too. I didn't get Blackhawks championship gear until after they won the Cup. I'll hold off until we, hopefully, win the whole damn thing.

I wish Cutler wouldn't have gotten hurt. Now we have to listen to Sully go on with his "only my teams" schtick for the next year.

the blackhawks won like 7 months ago and he still does it, even if the bears won it wouldn't change.

I wish Cutler wouldn't have gotten hurt, because now all the mouth-breather sports writers will bitch for 6 months about Jay Cutler's toughness, even if he tore an ACL or something.

and don't you forget it.

your trolling isn't going to work. i wasn't even upset we lost that series; the blackhawks were the better team and it took a regular season OT shootout and overcoming a 3-0 series deficit just for the flyers to reach that point. i was fully satisfied with winning the conference.

plus, we're really good this year.

Hell of a talented team. Very poorly coached. Rodgers or nothing. Better than lovies [expletive] ass.

That sounds about right. I can't really rag on MM if we can win the game in two weeks, though.

Ok, I got all the MM hate during the second half. Though I'm beginning to think 90% of NFL coaches are pussies who won't go for the kill.

YESSS!!

Gonna be a great defensive battle vs. Pittsburgh. Although we said that last year when the teams met during the regular season and there was 800 yards of total offense that game, so who knows?

Always sweet to beat the Bears. Even sweeter with everything all on the line. Their tears make me happy.

Watching part of the game over again. How about Urlacher crying to the ref about the penalty on Peppers and the PI on Driver. Umm.. Brian buddy, your not allowed to lead your helmet into another guys and your not allowed to grab a WR's arm and pull it down on a pass play.

Settle down. I don't think there's anyone that saw those plays in real time and didn't at least consider it questionable. Both correct calls, but I had to see a slow-mo replay to make a definitive judgment.

The PI on Jones at around the 5 yard line was very questionable, but that was basically cancelled out when Rodgers threw the INT. Other than that, the refs weren't as bad as people were indicating.

There were quite a few holds that were missed on both teams. Raji was held in the end zone, Matthews had his face mask grabbed and was held a few times, and Peppers was held a few times as well. At least they were consistent with the no-calls on the holds.

I think it was pretty bad all around.

Am I going to say the Bears should have won if the officiating was better? No. Packers won the game, end of story. However, there were a few calls that really cost the Bears big in terms of opportunities.

The Cutler interception at the end of the half was a little unnerving. The ball hit the ground and josteled. They had a former NFL rules official in he booth that said he believed the call would be overturned and ruled incomplete. It was not. Not a huge missed opportunity because the Bears still needed I think 20 or 30 yards to get in field goal position.

The obvious incomplete interception when the ball clearly hit the ground and was ruled incomplete by one official, but they ended up ruling complete. It forced Smith to use a challenge which caused him to be hesitant on throwing the flag on the near Hanie to Knox TD (I'm still not sure Knox got in or not, I couldn't tell by the replay so it probably doesn't get overturned). This was pretty inocuous as Taylor ran it in without a problem anyway.

The big goof to me was the intentional grounding. It was clear that there were two receivers in the trajectory of a pass where Hanie was hit while throwing. I was appalled by that call. The Bears ended up converting on that series though, so again it didn't have a huge impact on the game, although it did take away 10 yards from their final drive.

Again, the bad officiating didn't have a direct impact on the outcome and it did cost the Bears some opportunities, but it was bad. There's no doubting that.

I know I'll get responses from you guys that there were bad call both ways, but I'm obviously going to point out the ones that went against my team after a losing effort. It's a coping mechanism.
