I've always meant to post a rant about guys that say "THE" before the name of their school. There needs to be a moratorium on that.

Sorry to drag this thread back up, but as I watched the Tuesday night Vikings/Eagles game, I could swear I heard Jared Allen say he was from "Culinary Academy" when they went through the line ups towards the beginning of the game. Anyone else hear that?

 

I'm absolutely positive he didn't say Idaho St. Just thought it was funny.

 

And do players from Ohio St. get royalty checks if they announce it as THE Ohio St.? Just curious.

 

Yeah I read an interview on ESPN the Magazine (I was really bored waiting for my haircut) talking about that the other day. He said he does it because it pisses of the people who went to Idaho State, who want free publicity from him or something. He's a strange dude.

 

And no, the people that say "THE Ohio State" (along with everyone else that went to Ohio State) are just giant douchebags.
