Chaney's name came us as the result of someone throwing crap at a wall to see what would stick, I think. Miles wanted Crowton out because Crowton like more of a spread offense, while Miles wants someone to line it up and run it, Michigan style. If that's true, he's not looking to hire Jim Chaney.

 

Hopefully that's right. Chaney's not a "Power-I" 3 yards and a cloud of dust coordinator, so he won't fit if Miles is looking for that.

 

I don't think Miles is looking to run a 3-yd and cloud of dust coordinator. He does want to reign things in from all the multiple sets that Crowton ran. He's still looking to run a pro-style offense at LSU by all indications.

 

Since those first names leaked out, it's been pretty quiet on who LSU might consider.

Texas lost Duane Akina last night which was a huge blow, but already signed Jerry Gray to fill his spot which is great news. Still need to figure out the new OL coach.

Sounds like Michigan is hiring Greg Mattison as DC. Very solid hire. I'm happy with that.

He's 61, so being a head coach is probably not in his cards. He's coached with Brady Hoke before and was DC at Michigan back in the 90's. He also has a daughter that lives in Ann Arbor and she's supposed to be having a baby soon. He's always been big on family.

Anything on Tiny Richardson and Cam Clear? I'd been hearing that they were both really likely UT guys, but recently I've heard they may be swaying elsewhere.
