It wouldn't matter. They'd likely only get about 10 seconds at the most regardless. If you call your last timeout with 40 seconds left, Auburn runs it again anyway and they either get the first down or let the clock run all the way down again.

Yes but Oregon only had one timeout. So if they stop it before third down, Auburn runs the clock down after third down, since there's no way they pass the ball. Or they can wait until after third down. Either way, the clock runs down to 10 seconds or so.
