Hahaha, driving at 3 AM should be illegal.

3 am is about the best time to drive. Nearly all of you crazy people are off the road then !!!

I've driven the length of Nebraska more than a few times, and I always try to do it in the middle of the night. It's straight, flat, and there's nothing to see there anyway.

And I drive, well, let's just say in excess of 71 mph there. And I have never been pulled over.

From late '07 through early '09 I ran from the midwest to California and back every week, so that's twice across Nebraska each week. As you pointed out earlier, the speed limit is 75 across most of the state, and it's also about the upper limit of the speed I can maintain in the truck. So, barring any adverse weather conditions, we would set the cruise control at 75 and hold on. Like you, we were never pulled over in Nebraska. For what it's worth, I'll also add that there were damned few drivers, truck or auto, that passed us. That always surprised me a little.

I'm just shocked somebody was actually pulled over for going 6 over the limit

I got pulled over going 70 in a 65 on I-80 around 3 in the morning going back to Chicago from Colorado. It was out of state plates and I think they just saw an easy option to get paid.

It was the three in the morning that made them suspicious. Have a horse trailor or an RV at three in the moring and you are definetly picked up on I-40

There was nothing suspicious about driving at 3am on I-80.

for some magical reason the State Highway patrol can sense a vehicle with drugs a mile away even if they aren't breaking the law they will find something to pull you over , to slow, to fast the numbers on your liscens plate were dirty and couldn't be read. If you refuse a search they can hold you for up to an hour in Texas until the dog unit gets there and establishes probable cause

71 in a 65 is probably an officer thinking "hey, here's an easy contact and I'll write the guy a warning."

With 8 lbs. of weed, I'll bet it was an easy contact.

Maybe he shouldn't keep it on the luggage rack.

It is sadly hilarious that he'll get into trouble over this.

It was 8.4 pounds.

Ok the only reason to have that much weed is intent to sell.

So he's a hero.
