I like the Cubs ever so slightly more than I like the Bulls, but Rose > Castro now and forever.

Are you TRYING to make imb! throw up?

Interesting article on the effect of injuries on teams: http://www.basketballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=1631

A couple take aways:

- Milwaukee has been absolutely killed by injuries all year.

- Boston has been killed by injuries too, but they did sign the O'Neals.

- The Bulls have had very few games missed overall due to injuries, and the fewest injured players of any team in the NBA. However, when looking at quality over quantity, the Bulls have had a higher than average WARP drop due to injury (Still, no Milwaukee).

I would really like Milwaukee to win this. If they do, the Bulls beating Boston tomorrow would bring their magic number to 1 and Miami couldn't get the 1 seed. Just 1 win in our last 4 games would get it done.....we could clinch early and rest our guys.

how do you guys rank this team compared to the 2008 cubs in terms of dreamiest regular season ever

I hate you for making me even think of this comparison

James misses a couple key shots late. Bucks win. Heat are now 4 back in the loss column and Bulls have the tiebreaker. That's about it regarding the Heat.

Bulls are:

18/1 to win title

9/1 to win East

-120 to win Central

Theses are the odds from page 1.

Suck it Miami! A lot of people still giving Heat a lot of love in playoff predictions. Hopefully they are wrong. Personally I'm looking forward to seeing LeBron sulking off the court after losing and then throwing his coaches and teammates under the bus.

Now take care of business tomorrow.

Bodog took down their futures odds for some reason, but here's what sportsbook.com has now.

+110 to win East

5/2 to win title. (Lakers 3/2, Heat 4/1, Spurs 5/1, Celtcs 6/1, Hawks 200/1????)

Do we clinch the 1 seed with a win tonight? I know that puts us up 4 on Boston and Miami with 4 to play. We obviously have the H2H over the Heat, but I think that would make us 2-2 with the Celtics. If the next tiebreaker is conference record, we would be tied with them there as well.

The magic number would be 1, so no we can't clinch. The reason being, a win tonight would pull us into a tie in conference record with Boston, but for Boston and Chicago to end the season tied, Chicago would have to lose the rest of their games, and Boston would have to win the rest. They both play only conference opponents the rest of the way, so Boston would win the tiebreaker.

So they cannot clinch the 1 seed tonight, but clinching would be a near formality if we win tonight. All it would take is 1 more Bulls win or Boston loss.

If we lose tonight, our magic number remains at 3 (1 for Miami) meaning we'd need to win 3 more games to get it. With Cleveland and New Jersey (home) on the schedule, we'd need to beat either Orlando or NY on the road. Howard got his 18th technical last night and unless its recinded he will be suspended on Sunday against the Bulls. Even if we lose, I feel good about our chances.

So with the combination of it being a huge game tonight and Derrick having had a bad game on Tuesday, what is a reasonable expectation of how bad he's going to flay Rondo tonight? 35 and 9 is my prediction. Rondo will have something gay like 11-15-6.

Not to look too far ahead but it looks like Dwight Howard is going to be suspended for the game against the bulls. That pretty much pencils that in as a W and makes our remaining schedule after Boston quite easy.
