Pessimism: The Bulls only have 3 home games in the entire month of February, and those are against San Antonio, Miami and Charlotte.

i think there is no doubt this next month is gonna be rough. we're due to come to earth a little bit, and without noah and on the road vs. some very tough teams we'll probably see the pretty record drop somewhat.

good thing the end of the season is cupcakes all over again though.

Boston has a really tough schedule for the next month, we could easily continue to close the gap. Miami, ORL, and Chicago will probably continue to make up some ground.

I don't really think the schedule is that tough. It's just tougher than what it's been lately. Asider from Utah and New Orleans the really tough games are at home and the Bulls can beat anyone at the UC.

Well its not really immensely tough but its also mostly on the road and we've been pretty ordinary on the road, despite the pretty good road trip earlier in the year

Also, Noah will reportedly be back for the Miami game.

Anyone know how the NBA playoffs affect the draft lottery? If it's the 16 best records, the Bulls are OK right now, but if it's the 16 teams that make the playoffs are automatically excluded from the lottery.(I'm thinking it's this one, by the way) Then the Bulls are in danger of having the Charlotte pick turn into their pick THIS year, in an extremely weak draft.

Any team that doesn't make the playoffs is in the draft lottery. Since 16 of 30 teams make the playoffs, the lottery consists of 14 teams.

Any teams that make the playoffs then get slotted in reverse standings order.

That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Is Jimmer at 15 seem like a good option for the Bulls? I kind of like the idea anyway. It would kind of suck for us to have to use the pick in a weak draft, but I'd love to see him in a Bulls uniform. Although he'd probably be a defensive liability for the most part.

That's not true. I believe Charlottes pick was traded away last year and you can't trade your first round pick 2 years in a row (the Isiah Thomas rule) so the earliest that Charlotte pick can come to us is the 2012 draft. The reasoning above might nit be 100% accurate but I'm about 95% sure that we can't have Charlottes first rounder this year under any circumstances.

Edit: from NBAdraft.net:

Chicago Bulls: Receives 2012 first-round pick (lottery-protected in 2012, top-12 protected in 2013, top-10 in 2014, top-8 in 2015, unprotected in 2016) from the Charlotte Bobcats via the Tyrus Thomas trade on 2/18/10.

It didn't really mean much since they got one point out of it but I don't see how that was a flagrant foul. I guess it might have looked worse than it was because when you can fly like Griffen can you are going to hit the ground hard.

It wasn't. Typical Joey Crawford on that call.

I thought Griffin was going to be a pretty good NBA player, but I didn't expect this from him. He's absolutely out of his mind.

I think the greatest use of twitter ever is @staceykingsez starting the #staceyking tag for all the great quotes.

BTW the man himself is now tweeting @Sky21King
