and kurt thomas was surprisingly decent tonight, at least from the parts of the game i saw

kurt thomas had the most amazing game i've seen from a player to not leave his feet. i dont think he jumped even once. he had like 3 steals when he just stole it out from elton brand's hands, and then was found for a 14 footer like 3 times in a row

i really hope we dont get a double dose of kurt thomas for the next few weeks though, he's...quite bad

Kurt Thomas started over Asik?

Veteran presence, maybe?

Hard to argue with the results, for tonight. Thomas was serviceable, which is more than I expected.

I don't think Thomas looked that bad. He looked decent. At least better than I expected. That said, I'm with you guys, I am really hoping Thibs doesn't make Thomas his frontcourt Bogans, the wily veteran that does 3 bad things for every 1 good thing he does.

One thing of which last night's game reminded me: In the 2007 NBA draft, the Bulls were drafting either Joakim Noah or Spencer Hawes.

i'm starting to think the sixers are not going to win the title this year.

Last night aside, the Sixers had been on fire lately, especially defensively this month. They're still on track to at least challenge for a playoff spot, and are one of 9 teams in the East actually capable of making the playoffs (I think 6 teams -- Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, Charlotte, New Jersey and Toronto -- are basically done).

And SSR though Hawes would be better.

Who had more boards last night?

Glad to see you finally admit that Rose is vastly superior to Rondo.

I wanted Hawes too. I'm not afriad to admit it. I hated the idea of drafting Noah and thought he would never be anything more than a poor man's Tyson Chandler. I thought Hawes was raw but had shown a primative low post game, the type that we desperately needed on the team. I felt if we drafted him, in 2-3 years he'd be a legit low post threat for us. That's why I only pretend to be an NBA GM on the internet. Never been happier to be wrong.

And I'd like to point out the only reason the Bulls even needed to make the Hawes/Noah decision was because they took Thomas instead of Aldridge despite my protests.

Not that there was much on the wing for them to take instead

was that the day the music died for you?

I'm pretty sure everyone wanted Aldridge over Thomas.

I hated the guy, loved the pick. A rare time I was right.

Hawes at 9 would be just dandy.

Take it from a Pac-10 guy, Hawes has a lot of nice post moves. To me, Noah seems kind of a waste with Tyrus there already.

Oh, and I'd love Hawes if the Bulls could get him. He'd take a few years to develop, but he'l lbe great down the line.
