7-6 now, halfway through regulation. lightning's 6th goal scored after they were offside by 2 feet. linesman too busy playing with himself apparently.

7-7 after kubina lifts richards' stick up into his own face, drawing a speck of blood. automatic 4 minutes for high sticking himself in the face. awesome.

I am not going to look for the posts, but just want to take this chance to remind many that I was widely criticized last season for claiming Stamkos was as good as Kane.

I certainly hope I wasn't one that said that. But yes, you were right and those of us who said that were wrong. Gloat about it.

35 points in 19 games is filthy. I don't even think I can do that in "Be a Pro" mode on NHL 11.

I didnt mean to sound like I was gloating, sorry. He is having an incredible start to the season though.

yeah he's crazy good. his shot accuracy is pretty superb, at least judging by what i've seen of him against us.

thats how most of his goals are scored too. his wrist shot is lightning quick and ridiculously accurate. he puts it exactly where he wants every single time.

the lightning would be pretty sick if lecavalier didn't become terrible over the last 3 years

also if they had defensemen and goalies who didn't suck.

we beat the hell out of the wild in minnesota, 6-1. their only goal was scored off of our defenseman. even jody shelley scored a pretty goal, which is funny because he's terrible.

+28 goal differential in 23 games now. don't think we'll be sneaking into the playoffs on the last day of the regular season again.

i liked tim thomas better when he sucked last year. 41 saves on 41 shots against us tonight, and there were a lot of good scoring chances. second time this year we've been shut out in a 40+ shot effort.

this would probably send cynosure into a murderous rage, but sidney crosby has been incredible this year. stamkos is getting more press but crosby had another hat trick tonight, scoring all of pitt's goals. he has 21 goals in 27 games; malkin is next on the pens with EIGHT. he has 44 points in 27 games and next for the pens is letang with 24. he's carrying that team.

60 goals in his last 81 games, playing primarily on a line with Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis. amazing. Stamkos instead gets St. Louis feeding him passes

he's masterful in the faceoff circle too, and has really improved his defensive play, he's the best player in hockey

i didn't realize how well he had been doing until i saw his hat trick last night and then checked the stats.

on a related note, what the happened to malkin?

perhaps the most underrated player in hockey. has averaged 86 points over the last 6 seasons (and on pace for 98 this year), has won a stanley cup, won the Hart trophy, etc.

i know he plays in tampa, but still. it was ridiculous that he didn't make the canadian team last olympics, especially considering his leadership qualities.

i don't know. there was a time where i felt like malkin was the better player. now it's not even close. crosby has continued to improve (which is pretty impressive considering how good he was at 20 years old) but malkin has regressed.

a combination of bad luck and atrocious officiating (2 calls go against us called by the center ice ref when the guy 6 feet away from the play doesn't blow the whistle - then two extremely obvious penalties in OT go uncalled) caused us to blow a 4-1 lead to the sharks, then we score a goal in OT and it crosses the goal line 0.05 of a second too late. the clock goes to 0.0 and the puck is literally on the goal line. FML.

Anyone else see 24/7 Capitals/Penguins last night? It was outstanding.

Washington Capitals= NY Jets

The coaches dropped an "F" bomb literally every 2-3 words during their locker room tirades.
