How many phone calls do you think she's gotten from people telling her she's all over Sportscenter?

DeMarco Murray has to be like an eighth-year senior.

Herbstreit has repeatedly said that this is a "contract" year for Murray. That only happens when you've been around for 7 or 8 years.

It's pretty awesome that all a team has to do is beat two decent football teams to go to the championship game. I'm kind of sick of Boise State.

Ranked teams Alabama beat last year in regular season: 1.

I'd take pretty much any hypothetical BCS team that finishes with only one loss. That doesn't mean the pollsters won't.

This is the part where Musberger tries to compare Boise's accomplishments to anything that a team from a real conference does.

He's paid to sell a story line

i'm watching the game w/o sound at work, is garcia hurt or something?

Garcia did get hit in the head pretty hard in the second half, but he played a series after that hit...the commentators didn't mention any injury being the reason for Spurrier choosing Conner Shaw for those last two drives. I'm glad Shaw was on the field though.

Cameron Newton is a beast and carried Auburn on his shoulders tonight. His receivers dropped too many balls tonight, Auburn's defensive secondary is inadequate, but they still get the win. Auburn's offensive line is pretty strong, and Mike Dyer and Onterio McCaleb both ran the ball well in the second half. If their receivers can catch the ball, the offense is very good.

Minnesota is an absolutely awful football team.

no kidding... they weren't great when glen mason was there but at least they were consistently decent.

edit - and i hated glen mason because he would get good talent and do a decent job of game planning, but then would always get conservative with the lead and blow 2 TD leads in the 4th quarter.

Dude, are you an Oregon State fan or something? Only an idiot can't see that Boise State isn't a very very good team.

When did I say that? I'm saying they shouldn't sniff the national title game because they haven't played any one. There's a pretty big difference and only an idiot wouldn't see that.

That's from the Tennessee game I assume?

Who has more wins over ranked opponents than Boise St. this year? In the last two years they've beaten teams ranked #3, #6, #14, #24. Oh, yeah, and they're still on a winning streak. Texas just got smoked at home. Oklahoma almost lost to a reeling Cincy team. Oregon is down 24-14 right now. It can't end up Alabama/Florida for obvious reasons. Boise St. has won repeatedly on the national stage including two BCS games in the last three years. The hate is amusing.

I hope they win the national championship to shut everyone up. Hell, they could beat an undefeated Alabama team and people would bitch.

They have one win over the 23 ranked team in the country (and that team has a losing record). The other stuff is irrelevant because it has nothing to do with this year. I don't have an issue with Boise but they shouldn't be in the title game. In order to be in the title game you have to be in the top 2 in the nation and in order to be considered in the top 2 you have to beat good teams. James freaking Madison beat Virginia Tech by more than Boise did for god's sake. You really think this team should be in national championship talk?

And when the end of the season comes every team in national championship consideration will have more wins over ranked opponents then Boise State will.

It matters because it's almost all the same players as last year. How many starters did they lose? 1, and he was a first round draft pick (giving you an idea of their talent level). Their body of work is impressive. I'm a Big Ten guy but I'm not a homer.

You can't determine a current years champion by their previous years body of work. That makes no sense.

Eh, I'm not going to argue with you anymore. The selection committee will [expletive] both Boise St. and TCU again this year anyway. Probably make them play each other. Again.

That might not be true. Boise could very well have 2 (I think it will be Virginia Tech and Nevada at the end of the year). Last year, Alabama had 3 (the 3rd one being in SEC championship game). Texas had 2.

Obviously Boise's schedule is worse than any of the other contenders so they'll have to take a backseat to any other undefeated major conference teams. But is their schedule really that much worse to take them behind a team with a loss? Especially since the WAC is much closer to the major conferences this year than normal?

except that it does come into effect because it influences the preseason rankings... A team ranked high like Florida will have a harder time dropping out of the top 25 than a team ranked around #20 or so at the beginning of the season. If you start the year outside the top 15 or so, you have to have an incredible season to be considered for the national championship because you have to climb in the rankings

Without question.

Looks like the Texas game which would make sense.
