Why is Michigan ranked?

Looking through the teams receiving votes Michigan has as good of case as any right now...there haven't been very many impressive teams so far.

Really? How many of those teams have given up 450 yards to an FBS team?

Why is Michigan ranked?

Because Michigan and ND are a big rivalry game every season and without fail the winner becomes ranked no matter how bad they actually are.

People might want to start thinking about that in future years.

To be fair, Michigan is one of only a handful of teams who hadn't played a cupcake team in the first 2 games of the season, and they won both of their games.

Of course I say that and UConn is getting beat by 2 scores by Temple.

That was pathetic. My confidence in Michigan has gone down every game they've played so far. 6 wins and a bowl game please.

Bowling Green will make it 4. I think they'll be able to win at least two out of IU, Illinois and Purdue.

UCONN is not a good team and ND was playing the QB that was the backup at Pasadena JC last year for 2 quarters. UM hasn't had a good win yet. But since ND had the backup in for half the game, they won't face a good team until maybe MSU so they'll be 5-0 and the hype around Denard will be even worse than it is now. Then they'll get owned by Iowa.

I just watched Purdue half-ass their way to a 24-13 win over Ball State, and Michigan is better than them easily. Robert Marve can't throw a deep ball without firing it 10 yards past his intended receiver, making him a perfect matchup for Michigan's secondary. And IU is IU. So Michigan will be fine as far as a bowl game goes. I'm sure Robinson will single-handedly win at least one other game for them too.

Had a parlay with Arkansas and Illinois plus 7.5. The Illini had a 9 point lead with 7:30 left and again with 1:30 left but couldn't hold it against a team that looked awful against Iowa State.

Not sure.

But behind Michigan is a team who will drop out of the poll this week in California (lost by 3 TD's last night). Receiving votes: Clemson (best team they've played is North Texas so far..has a test against Auburn tonight), Florida State (got destroyed last week against Oklahoma), Oklahoma State (best win vs Washington state), Air Force (beat BYU but has Oklahoma today), Pittsburgh (already lost to Utah), Georgia (now with 2 losses), Michigan State (best win against Western Michigan plays Notre Dame tonight), Oregon State (only game is the loss against TCU), Texas Tech (best win against SMU and plays Texas tonight), Georgia Tech (lost to Kansas), North Carolina (lost 2 games now), BYU (lost to Air Force), Washington (lost to BYU), Nevada (beat California just last night), etc, etc.

If things go according to plan today, there aren't many cases for those receiving votes to be in the top 25. I honestly think Michigan isn't that good (caught a major break with Crist missing a half last week) but right now they still have as good of a resume as the other options. Who out of those teams should be in the top 25 instead? Nevada probably. I'm not sure who else unless somebody pulls an upset.

Arkansas tried to give me a heart attack. They pretty much dominated for 52 minutes but spent 7 minutes being free to deep passes over the middle and almost lost it. Great defense on Georgia's last real possession, though, and a great 33 second touchdown drive, though.

Different QB for NIU. Harnish is much better than Grady, who was the starter against Iowa State. I figured that was going to be a pretty close game.

Someone tell Washington they have a game today.

Well then what the hell is wrong with your coach? The dude against ISU was atrocious.

Nobody knows the answer to that. I have no clue how he started that game. He was beyond atrocious.

Jake Locker is having a horrible game. I think Andrew Luck is a better NFL prospect.

i was just about to make this same post, not that it's any kind of revelation or anything. but man, jake locker is just so blah to me. i know he's surrounded by nothing, but he seems to have all the mechanical problems of a vince young or tebow, but without any kind of the production. Where's the appeal?
