To be honest, I have no expectation whatsoever that we beat Vancouver this year unless everyone gets really hot and they play like they did on that 8-game winning streak. Even then, it would probably go 7. More likely, Vancouver in 5.

i guess some of you have some words to eat

As long as I get some ketchup to go with it!

I don't even care. I'm just so happy. Completely changed my mood.

Probably not since Buff was a big piece as to why we frustrated lu so much the last two years. Bolland was also a big threat and who knows if he plays. Versteeg also had some big goals. Our scoring depth won that series for us and we simply don't have that this year.

That said, the only chance we have relies on our mental edge over them. If we could somehow take game 1 I could see some serious panic from Vancouver. Their fan base seems to have that "here we go again" feel to it similar to cubs fans. That shouldn't necessarily translate to the players but who knows.

Haha before this game, Minnesota was 0-3 against Dallas and outscored 12-3 in the 3 games. The Wild's starting goalie (Theodore) was 3-11-4 lifetime against the Stars with a .886 save percentage.

I'm pretty sure the Wild lost their last seven to Dallas dating back to last year before tonight.

I'm ready for this series. Vancouver will probably win but this should be an intense series. I'm just happy that we get to experience playoff hockey for a third year in a row.

The biggest injury is to Manny Malhotra. He's been out since mid-march. I don't think he'll be able to play this series but I'm not sure.

One freaking trash-talking hockey playoff scenario that could happen to me and it's Vancouver. Don't [expletive] the bed guys, ok?

But trash talking an 8th seed is kind of lame.

Not when they won the cup the last year and didn't pull a Marlins

the hawks, oddly, have no pressure going into the playoffs. they're playing with house money while they're the defending cup champs. last year the season dictated that they at least make the scf. this year, vancouver is king, and taking the king down is gonna be epic. and the icing on the cake is that it's vancouver.

Not only that but everyone kinda knew that the Hawks were gonna have to shed salary and that last year was probably their best chance for the next couple of years. So there was a lot of pressure all the way up until they won the thing.

I think I heard Doc say during the broadcast yesterday that Malhotra was out of the season. He's a good player, but not going to slow Vancouver down all that much.

Secretly hoping for one of the hilarious scenarios that would result in the Hawks having home ice in the SCF.
