The bad home play is bewildering. I don't understand it.

Seabrook's been a mess again tonight.

Good news I guess is 20 of their last 32 games are on the road.

The hawks actually played decent tonight and outshot the Wild in all 3 periods but couldn't get it done. I feel like the hawks are incredibly unlucky in that regard. Really tough loss to a team on the Hawks heels in the playoff race.

Looks like it's gonna probably come down to the very last day of the season to determine whether the Hawks make the playoffs.

very bad loss. minnesota is one of the (many) teams we're neck and neck with for a playoff spot. to give them 2 points on our home ice while we get none is terrible.

i just want to make the playoffs, even if we get spanked in the first round. missing the postseason would be kind of embarrassing.... injuries or not. this team is better than the w-l shows, and the goal differential is a pretty good indication of that. we just can't translate it into w's

I watched pieces of that game but it just seemed like they couldn't get over the top against a Minnesota team that they needed to beat in this situation.

There were some unlucky things that happened, like hitting the inside of the post and the refs blowing the whistle on a puck too early that wound up in the net.

Q was pretty unhappy in the post game presser -- he didn't rant & rave but it seemed clear to me he's frustrated. As is Toews.

I mean, I'm glad they are showing the frustration but we're going to be heading down the stretch here pretty quickly and it would be nice if some of that frustration translates into a real surge, without taking steps back again.

Oh, Kaner...

"At first when I was out there, they started chanting 'Let's go 'Canes,'" Kane said. "My last name is Kane and I just kind of gave the crowd a salute and said thanks for cheering me on against your hometown boy."

Some uninspired hockey from Chicago so far. Still, fun to be here (with those who braved the ice)

Pretty much an uninspired season for the Hawks.

It was nice to actually see us convert on a 5 on 3 situation earlier in the game. It also seems like we give up more back-to-back goals, in the span of about a minute or so, more than any team in the league.

Awesome feed by Tazer to knot it up.

Coincidentally, more often than not, Turco is starting when that happens.

Geez, sometimes its so hard to watch that 3rd defensive pairing out there allow a crappy opponent to spend 2-3 minutes straight in their zone without the Hawks getting a stick on it. And then they do take control and immediately Leddy throws a lazy pass that goes right back to the Blue Jackets without leaving the zone.

I feel like everytime we play Columbus, the score is like 6-4

Every time we play in Columbus, that's the case. Then whenever we play them at the UC, we usually have a 2-1 or 3-2 type game.

Last few games @ Columbus:

1/16/10 - Hawks win 6-5

2/14/10 - Hawks win 5-4 in a SO

3/25/10 - Jackets win 8-3 (otherwise known as the last Huet game)

10/15/10 - Hawks win 5-2

2/1/11 - Hawks win 7-4

Last few games @ Chicago:

12/1/10 - Hawks win 4-3 in a SO

1/14/10 - Hawks win 3-0

3/28/10 - Jackets win 4-2

10/23/10 - Jackets win 3-2

12/26/10 - Hawks win 4-1

Sure seemed like Toews and Kane wanted it tonight. Good to see the big guns come with the intensity tonight.

I'm more impressed with being able to kill a 5 on 3 and then extended power play.

Toews willed us back when we looked lethargic with that big 2nd period and protecting 88 after Kane took that hit. D was sloppy again and Boynton sucks but that's a good start to the stretch.

We've gotta get Hossa into "eff you" mode here. He had a couple nice passes tonight that went for naught but I want to see him try to take over some shifts.

What do you guys think of Turco starting in front of Crawford?

I'm not in favor of it, but he had a pretty good game against Vancouver earlier this year. That has to be the only reasoning as to why he's starting tonight.

Crawford has been ok, but I don't think he's been anything special. Not like Niemi last year. I think its fair to give Turco a few starts to see if he can be better than how he started the year.
