I was really looking forward to that Boise State-Virginia Tech game on Labor Day but after seeing the jerseys that they're going to sport...yuck.

Penn State is running a true freshman 1st string QB. Shhhh.... they don't want anyone to know.

 

Robert Bolden named Penn State's starting QB.

 

Hmmm, I guess they did want people to know.

 

P.S. this team has a lot more talent then being given credit for. There is a pretty sizable chip on their shoulder and feel they have a lot of people to prove wrong. Should be a fun year.

Southern Miss/South Carolina could be a pretty good game.

I doubt it. Seriously, South Carolina has kicked off the season the last few years and all the games have sucked.

 

And not in an SEC SPEED + DEFENSE SLUGFEST kinda way. They're just really poorly played and unwatchable.

 

Pitt/Utah could be interesting though.

DeAndre Brown is always fun to watch. He should be a top draft pick this year.

There should be a new rule that says no South Carolina games can air nationally unless Danny Wuerffel is under center and Fred Taylor is in the backfield. Honestly, who thinks it's a good idea to bore us with another seven-win Spurrier team not just on opening night, but in general?

One of the teams I cover had a realistic shot to make it to Murfreesboro for the state championship game. Then they got plastered in the third round by Oneida. That's the closest I've ever come to going to that stadium.

That really hurts. It depends on what they have in Kilgore, though. He had pretty impressive numbers in the JUCO last year. I like Stockstill quite a bit too and I think he'll have a good gameplan together even without Dasher.
