6 runs in 3 innings - who kidnapped the real Cubs team and replaced them with run-scoring team?

Don't be too impressed. They scored runs off of an 80-year-old man.

Nice to have the lead, but I must admit to being a bit sad to see Moyer knocked all over the park like that.

I'm glad Ramirez finally decided to show up after half the season. Better late than never I guess.

i'm glad only because he's likely to exercise his player option after this season, and i don't want the cubs paying 14.6M next year to a guy who doesn't have it any more. we already have enough bad contracts.

That's hardly a bad contract.

it is if he can't hit any more.

But he would have to go back to looking like old Aramis for basically the entire second half for that to be likely, in which case it certainly not be a bad contract if he didn't opt out.

This is a fun start to the second half.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that won't be the case.

This happens once every 25 games where everything clicks and you wish they could play like this every game. Then it goes back to the same ol crap fest. :sigh:

What exactly happened on Castro's steal of home? Pat and Ron later described it as a straight steal.

Moyer threw a wild pitch as Castro came home on a squeeze play.

I'm not...that old man has dominated us way too many times in recent years. Good to finally hit him.

Castro continues to really impress. Not sure if the home run power will come but he looks to be a good bet to have quite a few extra base hits.

Jesus Christ, some of you just cannot enjoy a good game.

Its nit that we arent enjoying it, we just dont expect more like it. I will say this though, if Soriano and Byrd can stay productive, and guys like Soto, Castro, and Colvin can keep doing what they're doing this year in the future, and we can build around them, we could be contending again sooner than later. Im not saying it will be like it was in '07-'09 where we were the hands down favs, but we'll be right in the race.
