Heh. So what are we supposed to do, not show up? Jackass.

He was probably frightened by the Cubbie hordes that overran his ballpark when he was a young'n. Emotionally scarred, I bet.

Votto clarified his remarks Friday, saying he has great respect for the Cubs. He added that he "can't say as much for their fans."

The Cubs clinched the NL Central title in Cincinnati in 2007, Votto's first season in the majors. Thousands of Cubs fans were in the stands at Great American Ball Park for that game. Votto still bristles at the memory and says he won't sign autographs for Cubs fans as a result.

Haha, I was there. Moments after the game ended, the Reds shut down the out-of-town scoreboard (The Cards were playing at the time and needed to lose for us to clinch). I want to see the Reds blow the division SO badly. I have friends that are Cards and Brewer fans, but there is nothing more unbearable than a fairweather Reds fan.

It was fantastic. I've never sang that infernal Win Cubs Go song with as much satisfaction as I did in that G-D place that night. People who don't live among Reds fans can't possibly understand that there is indeed a rivalry, and how awesome it was for us to rub it all in their faces.

The memory is made 100% better knowing that Votto holds it as dearly as I do.

Uh, it was the Brewers who needed to lose, not the Cardinals.

I stand corrected.

the clinch of the division in 2008 at wrigley comes to mind.

Only bad thing was that it was on FOX, so we didn't get to listen to Len call it. Len hasn't gotten to call a Cubs clinch yet.

If the Cubs do nothing else this year (which they probably won't), I hope they never lose another game this season to the Reds and singlehandedly knock them out of the playoffs.

I was hoping for this anyway, but now it'll be much sweeter.

Yep, I am legitamately rooting for the Cardinals over them. [expletive] you Dusty
