I just took a quick peek at the box score and was baffled how Aramis got his avg up to 297 then realized it was his slg I was looking at.

I actually did the exact same thing half an hour ago

After today's game, there's only one thing that can be said...

"Fire Dusty!"

Wait a minute...

At least Dumpster still sucks. There isn't any Cub player I want to see hurled into the center of the sun more than him. And if Futurama can come back, anything is possible.

What are you talking about? Dempster was pitching great up until the 7th when he should have been pulled when he was clearly falling apart with well over 100 pitches.

Only 2 earned runs for Dempster...

Why even bother with the titles and whatnot associated with a front office? Hendry, like his boss, should have the decency to duck out and head to the third world if he isn't interested in salvaging what little dignity we have left.

Come on COBS, let's play funbad.

It's my only chance left for baseball entertainment.

Mission accomplished!

This makes absolutely no sense.

According to the Trib.....

Cubs have been shut out 5 of the last 13 games.

Cubs have scored 1 run or less 7 of the last 13 games.

Cubs have scored 3 runs or less 11 of the last 13 games.

That's unbelievably bad.

If Ricketts wasn't in Africa they would be scoring runs.

Okay I'll stop now. :hello:

As far as hoping the Cubs go into funbad mode, I think we are already there. In 2006, I saw some things I never thought I'd see in my life. The worst of which were 1) Ronny Cedeno getting thrown out at 2nd on a walk because he overslid the bag, 2) Two runs scoring on a sacrifice fly, 3) Two runs scoring on a wild pitch, 4) Four errors on one player (Freddie Bynum) in a 3 inning span.

Today, the Cubs crossed into that territory by allowing the Reds to bat around without the benefit of a single hit until finally the 9th batter got one.

What will they do next?

Personally I am hoping for a walk off balk.

I think it would be hard even for the Cubs to surpass the loss a couple of weeks ago where the winning run scored from first on a sacrifice bunt.
