Here's a lesson for all you youngsters out there........

Don't make Lou mad. He'll actually wake up from his coma and get himself noticed for something other than what he's actually getting paid to do.

"And another thing I'm going to say. I've won over 1,800 games as a manager, and I'm not a damn dummy," Piniella said. "There are only 13 others that have won more games than me, so I guess I think I know what the hell I'm doing."

Really?

Seriously is Chicago done blaming Steve Stone for this abomination of a team yet? 2004 until now hasn't been enough time? Yes, he's bitter and spiteful and I hate him. But he's usually right. Especially about the Cubs.

No, that's he main problem. He's never right.

And what the hell are you talking about with Chicago blaming Steve Stone?

Oh, Jesus, God, no.

He was right about Aramis for Cesar Izturis. I think we all see that now.

Stone and Kaplan are well-liked enough in Chicago because they play on everything the meatheads want to hear, not because they're right. Mainly because they believe in meathead principles and that goes over well just about everywhere with sportz fans.

two unrelated species. if a meathead is, in fact, a meatball, it's totally coincidental.

generally, meatheads don't think much about anything outside of their muscles and rape.

I don't think the city of Chicago necessarily blames him for anything, but it seems like all the hatred toward him spewed from the whole debacle in 2004 with Dusty and some of the players. Personally, I don't see how he could be loved, or at least tolerated for so many years and then everyone turns on him over a spat with players.

I know he's badmouthed the Cubs since he was let go, but to be perfectly honest with you, if I was let go because I said a few things that just happened to be true and upset some very sensitive multi-millionaires, I think I'd rip the team on the way out as well.

Stop saying Stone was let go! The Cubs offered him a substantial contract that he turned down. He thought he'd be hired on elsewhere FT rather quickly but he didn't get back into TV FT until 2 or so seasons ago (he was not offered a full time gig with FOX and he was turned down for the Nationals TV job that he openly coveted). Reluctantly, he took the White Sox radio job and was subsequently moved to TV... So while some in Chicago may love him he's obviously viewed as just a guy nationally.

Stone's made it his business to bad mouth the Cubs, in his arrogant snarky way, ever since. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against someone expressing an opinion but there are ways to make a point diplomatically (like he does when he discusses Sox matters).

Stone has a hard on for Hendry and will go out of his way in any conversation to blast him. He often does it without saying Hendry's name. But he never holds out. And while Hendry has been less than spectacular as a GM, you would think Stone would have the professionalism to let it go after so many years. But he doesn't.

Piniella is right with one of his comments: what has Steve Stone ever done regarding development of a player of a team or anything on the field after his one Cy season? Stone doesn't have to be right about player/managerial decisions because he's just a mouth piece.

Stone is a cry baby jackass and I couldn't be happoer that he has to spend so much time in the booth with that other jackass Harrelson!
