Ernie Shore shouldn't have a perfect game because he only retired 26 batters. That seems easy enough.

This couldn't be any simpler.

If the call is overturned, NO ONE REACHED BASE THE WHOLE GAME. It is a perfect game.

If you walk someone and then pick him off, NO MATTER WHAT SOMEONE HAS REACHED BASE. It is not a perfect game.

I just think it was crappy that it was in the record books for many decades as a perfect game, then was suddenly wiped out, as if the definition of perfect game had somehow changed in that time.

hahahahahah, isn't that exactly what happened?

Bud sticks his head back in the sand regarding instant replay:

But Selig also told reporters that he does not see a groundswell of support in baseball circles for greater use of instant replay. While he will continue to hold discussions with his special committee for on-field matters, he expressed doubt that expanded use of replay will take place during the 2010 season.

"It is interesting," Selig said. "Most baseball people are really against instant replay. There's no question about that. I could sense that the last three days [in talking to people].

Honest to God, what an idiot.

Everyone else is against the baseball people though. Instant replay has gotta be at least 10 years away with this "brain trust."

I think Bud is waiting for the media to perfect HD TV. In related news Bud Selig's office today was wired up with new dial-up modem for what he called the "internet revolution"
