Yes! Ryan Theriot leading off again. You know, the same Ryan Theriot that is 16/75 (.213) the last 3 weeks complete with 0 walks and 0 XBH during that timeframe. IN case you’re keeping track that’s a .213/.213/.213 line

Yay we should just give up on people whenever they have 3 bad weeks.

Actually I'm kidding. If it wasn't Theriot we were talking about I might be serious.

john ely in his minor league career had a .270 BAA and 1.40 WHIP against LH batters, and a .237 BAA and 1.09 WHIP against RH batters. but hell let's play two RH batters who hit lefties way better than they hit righties while leaving two lefthanded batters on the bench. great managing you senile old turd.

Look. It's not about getting guys at bats, it's about winning games. We just need to start winning games because that's all that matters.

yeah i love when lou just throws his hands up and says there's nothing he can do about his players not performing. well let's see, you could actually pay attention to how your players are performing, look up some splits or not determine your bullpen usage with a blindfold and a dartboard.

Haha Lou looking at minor league stats? Surely you aren't serious, hell he doesn't even look at his own players stats. He's becoming more and more like Baker

His walk rate was way down last year too though. It would be perfectly reasonable to move him down to the eighth spot or so.

this is so boring

A 0-0 game isn't boring; if we go down 9-0, then that's excruciatingly boring.

For a baseball purist such as myself this is glorious.

i'd probably appreciate it more if there weren't so many games where the cubs' offense was completely wretched. i can enjoy a good pitcher's duel, but when three-quarters of the pitchers you face are dominating you, it's probably your offense that sucks.

It's been a while since I've seen a game were a baserunner was arguing with an umpire without a play at the bag. Seems he's arguing about Lilly's move being a balk.
