i was listening through at-bat, and correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't starlin castro hit his first home run on his first major league swing?

i don't know how to look this up, but is starlin castro the first player born in the 90's to play in the majors? or is someone younger than him in the majors right now?

he is the youngest in the majors and is the only player from the '90's currently in MLB. Not sure if anyone had an appearance last sept or not.

Heyward is the only other 20 year old (but born in august '89)

 

Porcello and Andrus are the only two 21 year olds.

The Mets have a couple guys who were up who were born in October of 89. I looked through B-R team's reference and didn't find anybody who had be born after that besides Starlin, even last year.

Also, San Fran called up Bumgardner in September of last year, another Aug. 89 b-day.

Wow. I was at work when I received a text from my friend saying Castro hit a three run jack in his first at bat. I thought he was yanking my chain, but I then saw the highlight! I hope he is the real deal, and we have a jewel at short for years to come!

To be clear, this isn't meant as a reply to anyone here.

 

My real concern with this game is that it will raise the expectations for Castro to ridiculous levels. I'm hoping that the idiots don't come out at the first sign of struggle because he's not hitting 30 HR and driving in 120.
