The only reason the Jazz aren't contending for championships is because they have no one that can control the paint. That's a huge difference between the Bulls and the Jazz.

The reason the Jazz aren't contending for a championship is because the Lakers have Kobe. The paint is a factor, but it doesn't come close to Kobe.

LeBron will make more in Miami due to not having to pay state taxes and Cleveland's excessive 2% city tax. Of course LeBron could get a sixth year in Cleveland, but he will obviously won't stop playing after this contract. He really isn't leaving much money on the table.

Yup, I gotta think the Jazz would have made it to the finals one of the last 3 years. They are a really enjoyable team to watch.

The Miami Tool Machine really are going to play up the villiany, aren't they? Good god, I hate them so much that Kobe and Rondo are no longer on my crap list.

What the hell are you talking about?

Rose is worse than Williams so yes he is a "worse point guard". Toney Douglas and Rondo on the same list?

I threw Rondo up there as a jab at SSR.

And no he isn't. He's a step behind, but not a worse point guard.

He's a step behind and still developing big difference than being a "worse point guard."

This argument is just bizarre. I'm almost as good as my friend at FIFA 10 but he still beats me more often than not. I'm "worse" than him at FIFA despite the fact I'm also good.

Long time lurker, but I figured this was as good as time to start posting. Sorry if this was already posted, but I found this on another board I visit. I think it adds more fuel to the fire if true.

Chris Broussard said on ESPN Friday that a big reason that LeBron James didn't sign with the Bulls is that they didn't offer enough perks for LeBron's family and friends.

One of LeBron's buddies was hired by the Cavaliers and he wanted his entourage to be able to travel on the Bulls' tab, but the team, according to Broussard, said 'we didn't do that for Michael Jordan, so we're not doing it for you.'

and JR stated that Lebron only requested that they hire his trainer, which the Bulls agreed to do.

i think it's all moot anyways. i think he was going to miami all along and that was that. all that talk and speculation, and i'm pretty sure we never had the slightest chance. it was always miami.

looks like the cavs are going to get two firsts and two seconds out of this.

miami, in year six of the deals is going to be at nearly 90 mil for three players. if they use the mle six times at six years, that's 36 mil. 126 mil, lets say. then, they're paying 56 mil in luxury tax just on those 9 players.

182 mil for a 9 player team.

Since those two first rd picks are likey to be in the late 20s at the earliest, the Cavs traded James for essentially 4 second rd picks. Cool.

They are using Obama's federal budget theory: buy now, figure out how to pay later.

So this unholy alliance is unlikely to live out their contracts with the Heat. Good to know.

watching korver try to play defense is hilarious. he has to be one of the worst defensive players in the league; it's hard for me to imagine more than about 10 guys with less ability to guard NBA players than him. my favorite part is that he actually does try hard at it, but he's so friggin slow that guys just blow right by him.

He's about as good as Ben Gordon. Both try hard, but they both just don't have the size or athleticism to do it well.

"I knew this was going to evolve a while ago," Heat executive Alonzo Mourning said Friday. "We knew a long time ago. We did our due diligence on our recruiting trip, and we had a good feeling about this. When we came back, we knew that it pretty much was going to evolve in our favor."

Sigh.

Yeah, that's the thing that annoys me most about everything. These guys knew the whole time this was happening. Everything was just part of the big show. Wade pretending he's interested in Chicago, Bosh bringing camera crews to interviews to make a documentary, etc. It was all part of the attention whoring. I'm also pretty sure that LeBron's crew put all those Knicks rumors out there during the last couple days. All of a sudden we see these celebrities and athletes in other sports tweeting that they found out he's going to the Knicks. Why? To get the biggest tv market interested in watching "The Decision".

I hope those guys realize that the Heat immediately become the most hated team in sports. It will be interesting to see how they do when every team they play is gunning for them.

The Bulls have offered JJ Redick a 3 yr 20million contract. The Magic have 7 days to match it.

A bit much, but at three years, I don't mind. If Orlando doesn't match, and assuming that the deals to Korver, Boozer, and Reddick are all backloaded, the Bulls still have plenty of money for Asik, a defensive wing like Brewer and maybe another big man.

We'll be deep, and hopefully not too committed in long term deals.

Apparently the Redick deal is frontloaded in order to make it difficult for the Magic to match. Redick is another great shooter that doesn't play much defense. Would be nice to get a defensive guard.

It appears they'll have the right to swap firsts in 2012 too(the picks are rumored to be 2nd/2nd/1st/1st over the next 4 seasons) plus a huge trade exemption. The last part is big because now they can keep Shaq and West and go over the cap, use the MLE, and still have the exemption to chase a big name in a trade. Real good news after thinking they lost him for nothing.
