Kyle Korver to Bulls 3 yr 15 million reportedly.

So the Bulls are trying to recreate Utah with a worse point guard? That'll end well.

I wouldn't call Rose a "worse point guard" then Deron Williams.

Alright, close it up, nobody's topping that one.

I cant complain about the Korver deal. 3 yr 15 mil is a pretty good deal compared to what others have gotten. There are rumors the Bulls trying to get Igudola from Philly also.

I've heard Deng/Gibson and a conditional 1st (I would assume Top 3 type protection) to Philly for Iggy and either Kopano or Green. I would do that trade with the re-signing Miller in mind.

Isn't Iguadola just a healthier Deng? And those other 2 are just guys. I don't really understand the point.

Korver is a great shooter, and the contract isn't terrible. Not a good defender, so I'd still like to see the Bulls get somebody who can defend well out on the perimeter.

EDIT: And yeah, Deng -> Iguodala is mostly a lateral move. Slightly better at creating a shot, slightly worse at making it.

This reminds me of when I was a little boy watching wrestling and watching Hulk Hogan turn into a bad guy. Its like LeBron just dropped a leg drop on all his fans and turned into a bad guy and joined the NWO (heat).

I always did love a good heel turn.

I like the Korver deal. If the Bulls can land Childress or Brewer, they'll be really solid this year.

I don't know what to think about that. AI2 is talented, but he can't shoot either. A backcourt of he and Rose really leaves a lot to be desired in reguards to perimeter shooting.

And Deng at the 3. You have 5 guys on the floor whose have mid-range ability at best. EDIT: I missed that Deng would be leaving. I don't know if that's much of a move either though.

Korver is exactly the kind of guy they needed, I just don't think he's good enough to be their primary 2.

Are you kidding me, SSR? Gimme a break. I didn't say Rose was better, all I said was Rose wasn't a "worse point guard." If you are talking about "worse point guard" I assume you are talking about guys like Toney Douglas, Baron Davis, Andre Miller, Rajon Rondo, Jameer Nelson, etc. Derrick is a step behing Deron, just like Deron is a step behind Chris Paul, but Derrick has the talent to at least reach Deron Williams status, if not surpass it.

What the hell are you talking about?

Rose is worse than Williams so yes he is a "worse point guard". Toney Douglas and Rondo on the same list?

And Baron Davis is not a step worse than Derrick when healthy, admittedly that isn't very often.

I agree with you completely. While most may say that Deron Williams is a better point guard now, I think most would also agree that Rose could easily become a better point guard than Williams is. Rose is already a top 5 point guard in the league at age 21 and is a few years from his prime still. In 2-3 years he will probably be the best point guard or at least in the same category as Chris Paul.

In some ways that is a valid comparasion, but the biggest different is Iggy is an athlete who can slash to the basket, whereas Deng is basically a spot up shooter (hence that during his stay in Chicago there had been off and on talks about moving Deng to PF). But Iggy is a better rebounder (200 more rebounds), a better passer (1300 and change more assists), quick hands (450 more steals) in their careers which both started in 2004, so no I don't see it as a lateral move, but an improvement. The Heat have load on athletes, and the Bulls have to match that upgrade in athlethicism to have a chance. So yeah, I think Iggy is an improvement over Deng.

this year he'll be in the same category as paul. the question is if he's in the same category as williams, which he isn't.

Plus Iggy has always been the main option in Phily since Iverson left and could serve to only get better when he is not the focal point but perhaps the 3rd person that a team would concentrate on guarding, behind rose and boozer. I think Iggy would match up very nicely against Wade in terms of keeping him under control.

I threw Rondo up there as a jab at SSR.

And no he isn't. He's a step behind, but not a worse point guard.

He's a step behind and still developing big difference than being a "worse point guard."

So I understand that you are ranking Williams as a better point guard than Chris Paul? I don't think most people agree with that assessment even though I am a huge Williams supporter after watching him play at Illinois. Don't get me wrong I think Williams is the second best in the league and is close to Paul but it is hard to top what Paul can do.

Can we all agree on him being a worse point guard (at this point)? I think he can be the best in the league in a few years or maybe even this next upcoming year but as of last season he is not up to par yet.

I've said Rose was a step behind Williams (so I agree he isn't in Williams group, but I do disagree that you have Williams over Paul, I think it is the other way around, but that's just semantics), but a couple of people are saying he's a "worse point guard" then Williams, when that isn't even true.

I will only admit to him being a step or two behind Williams, not that he is a worse point guard.

If you take both of their sophomore years (keep in mind that Williams was 2 years older) then they are pretty comparable but I give the slight edge to Derrick rose. However, I do not think Rose will ever become as good of a passer as Williams is, he simply the best in the league at dishing it out. If you had to have one of the two on a one year contract this upcoming year though I would pick Williams, if you had to have one to a 5 year contract then I would pick Rose.
