I know I've missed all the regular season this year, and his previous seasons - and yes he had that rediculously long 'at least 1 point scored, per game, in the playoffs' run... but Toews hasn't shown me anything this series (yet). I know nothing about him, really, so can't or won't label him a 'choker', but boy does he need to really work to start earning the C he wears on his shirt, at least when the lights are on and everyone's watching.

Oh come on. He's had a poor 4 games for his standards after a tremendous 16 games where he was the best player in the playoffs.

seems like every pass is fluttering and bouncing for the Hawks. They can't get off a clean look or clean pass to save their lives

What I don't get is why they're not dumping and chasing when Pronger is on the ice. To put it kindly, he's lost a step, all Toews has to do is push the puck ahead when Pronger' on him, he'll beat him to the puck 10 out of 10.

Flyers definitely won that period. Seriously Toews, it's time for you to show up this series. I've given up on Buff but Toews has been a real disappointment tonight.

Gotta get more pucks on the net and more traffic. It's still Leighton back there.

Really? During their multiple PP's what did they get two shots? Hawks CARRIED they play otherwise.

And he's looked slower in the 3rd in almost every game. Swap Brouwer and Buff and skate around his ass.

Touche. We just couldn't generate much offense 5-5.

Welp, unless we got 4 goals in reserve that CHI's waiting to unload in this last period, itsagonna be 2-2 before the start of Sunday night's game at the MoM.

We're only down 2. Score 2 and force OT.

I'm planning ahead.

I figure PHI's got at least one more PP attempt coming, and want to factor another goal in (no matter how its scored), so we'd need to score 4 to win. Need to avoid OT if at all possible - unless we score just before the end of regulation to force OT.

How about the Hawks go crazy this period and score a bunch so we can laugh at the last few pages.

I wish, but I can't see the Flyers D giving up 3 goals in a period after how great they've played since game 1.

What the Hawks need to do is switch up the lines. Move Byfuglien to the Hossa line, and toss Brouwer on the Toews-Kane line, and see what Philly does with Pronger. If Pronger follows Buff, the Kane/Toews/Brouwer line will tear up Timmonen/whoever, just as the Hossa line has torn them up so far. If Pronger stays on the top line, the Hossa line can sit Buff in front of Leighton all day.

I've noticed that as well, bouncing like a super-ball on them.

It's the Flyers in their face. Other teams respect the Hawks' ability to stretch and create breakaway chances, so they aren't as aggressive. The Flyers know Pronger and company will bail them out, so they go balls out.

I think the Hawks have to start taking dives and embellishing a little, Q's gotta start getting the ref's ears as well, this PP [expletive] is getting out of hand.

I agree, Buff has been an absolute non factor in this series. The matchup worked against other teams that didn't have a player like Pronger in there. But it's time to make adjustments. Don't lose this series because you uncharacteristically keep your lines in tact Q.

Agreed overall but it would be foolish of them to switch Pronger just for Buff given his play.

Hossa needs a lot of ice time in the 3rd.

Seriously, what are we doing in our own zone? They just stand around and make stupid passes.

I hate Versteeg right now.

Everytime the Hawks are in the Flyers zone, it looks like there's 2 Flyers for every Hawk. Can't get off a decent shot to save our lives

We're just not getting any breaks. Puck is sitting in thecrease. A hawks player is there in position with room to shoot and we can't get the shot off.
