We're in Game 7 of the 2003 NLCS mode now. It's not "over" but we all know how this ends.

The period was a perfect example of how the rest of the series is going to go:

1) Stupid penalties

2) Ineffective powerplay

3) Folding to the forecheck

I know very little about hockey, but even I know that PHI's 3rd goal was a total embarrassment from the Blackhawks' POV.

There as well might not have been a CHI player within a mile of that PHI just sitting next to the net waiting to just slip it in there.

I know the Hawks could easily turn this around but I cant see them winning another game this playoffs. I just haven't seen one good performance out of them this series, and in fact they are getting worse. The Flyers will have all the momentum, and will be in the Hawks heads. You just cannot maintain confidence when you're being dominated for 4 games.

Seriously I am so mad at Hossa for not shooting that puck. That's why you have 3 [expletive] goals in the entire playoffs.

I know he's played well besides that but [expletive] me.

Going into the series, he was leading the team in shots. Not sure if he is now.

niemi is having a pretty bad stanley cup final

The first one was pretty bad. What is he supposed to do on the other two?

the first one was a huge goal and completely set the tone for the game

he was bad in game 1, great in game 2, average in game 3, and bad so far tonight.

that first goal just can't do in

Does it matter? We can't score and our penalty kill is atrocious. They could give us 10 power plays and the Flyers 2, and they'd still get more PP goals.

i'm as negative as anybody, but come on. you really think the hawks have been dominated for 4 games?

I think they've been dominated when it counted in at least two, probably three of the games. And those are the most recent.

I'm sure the Cubs syndrome is relevant to a bunch of Canadians and Europeans.

Scoreboard. And an even bigger scoreboard for where we'll be after game 6.

Histrionic woe is me BS. The Hawks are up on the scoreboard that matters and they won't be down no matter what happens tonight.

I'll be around a week from now to continue this conversation. Hope to see you then and I'll post some nice pictures of Pronger lifting the Cup.

Agree about above.

I want to seriously [expletive] hardcore about the reffing, but seeing as how CHI's 0-fer on however many PPs they've gotten in this series, not sure exactly what we're missing other than personal gratification of not seeing PHI getting away with literally everything.

Going back to Wednesday night, this was the first PP in 4 attempts that looked like the Blackhawks had any intention of doing something with the advantage they had.

the first goal was soft

the second goal was a bad rebound, but the defenseman passed it right to the Philly player

the third goal was entirely on the Hawks defense, not on Niemi. Nobody was going to save that goal

It's not that I think the Hawks can't lose, it's the notion that the series is over that is totally irrational.

I mean really, you think this is in the same universe as the 8th inning of game 6 and beyond of the 2003 NLCS (yet)? Step back from the ledge.

I still feel good about tonight, Leighton is shakey as hell, keep shooting, it's going to in, the Hawks are going to light him up, it's coming. Edited by gflore34

how is it different? after the 8th inning of game 6, it was a tie series. after the flyers win tonight, it will be... you guessed it..... a tie series.

it's exactly the same
