i enjoy seeing detroit fans' responses, they're scared, real scared, and trying to act like they aren't by overcompensating and saying ridiculous things. it's amusing to me to see them thrash about and grasp desperately at whatever they can so that they can sleep at night.

I'd say that's about right, in deference to NewUserName, the Hawks are younger and most importantly, better along with a quality management, they're not going away anytime soon.

In watching the reply of Kane' goal, it appears Sharp knew the puck was in as well. Looks as if he starts celebrating before Kane.

I hope everybody enjoy the week, cause man my week has been busy. Suffice to say, don't ever play full contact pond hockey with a bunch of Canadians then go on a drinking binge to end all drinking binges.

Found out about the Hawks on Friday, when my brother-in-law Francis was playing "Chelsa Dagger" from his Impala. Missed the rally cause I was on a flight, got home watch the game, (Kane and Niemi reactions act the end of the game were friggin' hilarious, at least to me while still on a major buzz) enjoy the outcome, then crashed into bed early Saturday. Through all the black eyes, bruised ribs (remember don't play pond hockey with canadians), and the booze drinking, it's been a good week.

As for the Red Wings? Them be morons. For so many years the Hawks were a punching bag, a joke in their eyes, watching proclaim this and that about the Hawks, is nothing but music to my ears.

I find it hilarious to read other teams' message boards in reaction to wins. I don't post, but I read.

Heck, I thought it was hilarious to read the Cardinals fans reacting to Cubs message boards posts during the 2007 sweep.

Arizona Cardinals message board after the game with Green's tirade. The freaking thing went down for a few minutes cuz it was getting hammered so hard. And I'd actually say the majority of the traffic was 49ers fans coming to troll them.

Speaking of looking at other team's reactions...from a Canucks blog:

Why I am pissed the Blackhawks won:

I hate the Blackhawks.

It's the fact that I honestly think the Canucks are a better team this season than the Blackhawks - but they weren't able to beat them. That is really, really frustrating.

Posted

And a response from a Sharks fan:

It’s the fact that this team is so talented and opportunistic that, despite their immaturity, they can be dominated for 50 minutes before breaking out and winning the game.

This. Seriously. At least Canucks fans can take some solace in the fact that your team actually won a couple of games against the Hawks. My Sharks pretty much dominated them for three of the four games they played, and still managed to get swept.

I am so freaking bitter, right now.

lol @ the sharks "dominating" them for 3 of the 4 games. what a clown. as you guys know, i've been the one who was defending the sharks play and i still think that series was played pretty evenly, but the sharks dominated 3 of the 4 games? please

my favorite was reading though the game thread on a canucks board from game 6 of the SCF and seeing about 30 "NOT HIM.. ANYBODY BUT HIM" posts right after kane scored. so awesome

so apparently there's a new feature on this board that puts consecutive posts you make into the same post?

Chicago Blackhawks president John F. McDonough said that current Florida Panthers GM Dale Tallon will receive a Stanley Cup ring.

McDonough said on Chicago radio station ESPN 1000 that Tallon "had an immeasurable impact on this franchise. He will absolutely get a ring and he deserves it." Tallon said he was proud that the team he helped build captured the Stanley Cup and it is good to see the Hawks recognize his contributions.

Does it count as one post or 3?

I didn't see it anywhere, but apparently Dale Tallon will recieved a Stanley Cup Championship ring for his contributions on building this team. Great move, imo.

classy move, if true.

Don't confused it with what you are thinking. The family I married into considers "pond hockey" as being play in a indoor arena with no rules. So no I am not talking about an actual pond hockey.

I'm *still* waiting for VisitPhilly.com to respond to my e-mail and tell me what Montreal, New Jersey, Boston and Chicago have in common. They promised me I'd find out! This is worse than waiting on the Deathly Hallows to come out! :(

One of the Hawks said he saw it go in as it happened in the post-game interviews, and I'm pretty sure it was Sharp.

i'm assuming that they said before or during the series something about that, but i didn't see it. what exactly did they say, and where on the site did they say it?

The city's tourist office produced a poster with the text, "Dear Chicago, What do you have in common with New Jersey, Boston and Montreal. Hint: You’re about to find out."

so you were playing pond hockey in some arena? yeah that makes sense.

Hossa was playing with a sprained MCL during the Finals.

Wow, while not scoring many goals I thought Hossa was fantastic throughout the whole of the playoffs.

It will be glossed over and forgotten because they won, but the criticism of Hossa during these playoffs was preposterous. Simply an easy target because he wasn't scoring goals and the whole "curse" thing. But I assure you, anyone who was criticizing his play doesn't know the first damn thing about hockey. He was phenomenal.

I thought it was really close between him and Toews for who was actually the best player throughout the playoffs.

I don't disagree. Both were beasts on the forecheck and backcheck, which are so huge in the playoffs.
