Ahhh I waited 12 years for another championship.

my heartfelt condolences.

but really it was a fun series and i'm proud that my team played as well as they did. if we had a real goaltender the outcome might've been different, which is about as much as i could have expected.

Hmmmmmm that is very tempting. And I've been drinking too, oh [expletive]. Bye bye $50.

Oh and I've been chilling my own bottle of champagne lol. Time to break it out. :yahoo:

Yeah they already got $85 from me and that's probably the tip of the iceberg.

I'm happy I have a November birthday because if I didn't and the Cubs ever win a World Series, I might blow all of my money.

I've watched the initial celebration over and over and it really has to be the funniest celebrations in sports history. Kane and Sharp are going crazy and everyone else is kind of half assed happy, just reacting to Kane.

I'm in a noisy bar with music playing on the jukebox, no sound for the hockey game, and Kane's goal sneaks in under Leighton's leg. No one in the bar saw it.

In fact, it looked like no one in the crowd saw it either. I honestly believe Kane was the first person to notice the puck in the net. It was a very surreal ending in that everyone around me thought the game was still going on, but wondering where the puck went. Kane was also the only one celebrating right after the goal.

Congrats to the die hard Hawk fans. What an exciting series this ended up being.

I have to hit the sack after this post but it has just been on my mind.............CSN is kind of recapping the entire playoff run..........to me, that Game 5 vs Nashville still stands out. Think back to that, everyone was gripping about getting upset in the 1st round. The Blackhawks were down 4-3 with roughly a minute left in Game 5, in danger of falling behind 3 games to 2 in that series with Game 6 in Nashville obviously.

When Kane tied that Game 5 to force OT, that was just crazy. Then Hossa coming out the penalty box to score the winning goal in OT..........man.

i meant to mention this is a few days ago, but i don't think seabrook has gotten enough credit for his play in this postseason. i think he was hands down our best defensemen throughout the playoffs. very few turnovers or mistakes, and he was a complete beast physically. soooo many hits. keith was fine, but he just makes so many turnovers in the defensive zone. seabrook was almost flawless for the past 2 months.

Niemi: " hehe; whut?"

JR breaking down and crying on the NBC postgame was [expletive] epic too FYI. Don't see too many genuine moments like that.

That was one of the most genuine moments of last night.

Where's Kyle? He worked the negative/positive mojo to perfection!!!

Poor Kyle. He was given a week off because of his behavior the past week.

I unbanned him last night, about an hour after the game...

I think that it was more a matter of spotting Boston 3 games to start that series that really was the Flyers undoing (from their perspective that is). They had nothing left by the end of the 2nd period and played the 3rd period on guts alone. In the end they had too many desparation games to be able to skate with the younger, deeper Hawks team.

I give the Flyers a lot of credit. They were a much better team than most people-including me- gave them credit for going into the series. Lieno was an absolute beast in the series.

People who want to celebrate with everyone else probably shouldn't act like huge babies leading up to the final games. And they *definitely* shouldn't respond with "ban me or deal with it" when confronted with that behavior.

Anyways, wooo!!!!! Never a doubt.

One thing that's always fascinated me about hockey is that the shooter always knows, even when he shot through a ton of traffic and can't see the net and no one else knows.

Leighton said he knew it was in, and on the replay you can see him look behind himself right at where the puck ended up. Seemed like those 2 might have been the only ones that knew though.

Poor Doc Emerick had no clue.

yeah when you get beat in the same spot 30 times in one playoff series you probably grow familiar with the result.

No, he was in the process of calling a goal, but stopped when there was no light. He reacted to Kane's reaction, as did I. There was a half second where 3-4 Hawks sticks were raised in the air, but then the pause.
