Maybe it just felt like it was in slow motion for me at the time, but I couldn't believe no one on the Hawks could properly communicate to Niemi, even with the language barrier, that the puck is sitting wide open in the crease and to fall on it. It felt like 5 seconds it was sitting there but it was probably more like 2.

I hear ya...but to me, there should've been a Hawk close enough to swat away a short rebound anyway...or at least fight for it. I mean, by the time you yell to Niemi, and he locates the puck, it probably is too late anyway. Either Niemi had to know he missed it, or another Hawk has to be there.

I think it was just a lack of experience thing...I think with his success so far, we keep forgetting that Niemi is awfully inexperienced.

I like the locker room pack. I think it includes the locker room t-shirt and hat, the DVD and 2 pucks. I could care less about the pucks though.

The last time a team of mine won the championship, my allowance was $10 a week so purchasing championship material was out of the question. IF THE HAWKS ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO WIN ANOTHER GAME, SOMETHING THAT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT AND MIGHT NOT HAPPEN, I won't know what to do with myself.

Just for the record, there is just one puck.

One puck, two pucks. It doesn't matter, I will (hopefully) have it by next week.

He earned his keep during the SJ series. Against Philly the D has let him down big time. There should have been somewhere there to help him on that play.

Excuse my ignorance but what are the Vegas odds for tomorrow's game and the series? If a team has a +200 are they favorites or dogs?

+200 would be dogs

The Hawks are +105 for tomorrow the Flyers -115.

Hawks for the series right now would be around -350 is my guess. They were -600 after game 2. -190 after game 4

I dont post here that much but I cant freakin wait til tomorrow. Something tells me a Hawks OT winner off the stick of Hossa in the 1st overtime 3-2 final

Can you explain to me how the odds work? What does it mean to be -115? How is it calculated and what is the standard bet/payoff? I've never understood that. Might be a good thing because it keeps me away from the books in Vegas, but I'd like to know.

Much as I would love to see the Hawks hoist the Cup at home, I really don't want to see it go to 7 games.

I don't want the possibility that Philly steals it away in our building. That would really, really suck.

Ever since midway through the SJ series I was positive the Hawks were gonna win it all. I wavered a little this weekend, but now I'm sure again. I sure as hell would like to see it happen tomorrow night though. I can't handle a game 7. And I'm going to be out of town for work with the strong possibility of having to fly back home Friday night. I will stay another night on my own dime rather than be on a plane for the entire game, which I would be. Please don't let it come to that Hawks.

It means the Flyers are favored, and that you have to bet $115 dollars, to win $100 back if the Flyers win.

Conversely, the Hawks are very slight underdogs. If you bet $100 on the Hawks and they win, you win $105.

So, and I'm sorry for my ignorance, is there any reason to bet on the favorite then?

You win your bet + the winnings.

I like tracking those "How Loud is it" articles after each game. For those wondering if the UC might have had a touch of nervousness in the crowd during the game, you might be right but overall there wasn't much difference. The highest reading was 119, while the highest reading in the first 2 games was 122 I believe. For the goals scored, in game 1, the reaction ranged from 110-118, in Game 5, 112-116 (not including the EN goal that was the 119).

Laviolette is kind of a tool, isn't he?

After pulling his starting goaltender twice in the Stanley Cup final series against the Blackhawks, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette scoffed at a question about whether Michael Leighton would be in front of the net for Game 6.

"Do you know who's starting in net for Chicago," he asked. "Did they announce that yet? ... Our goaltender has the best numbers in the playoffs. I didn't think I had to announce it."

His starting goaltender is also the only one still playing who has been yanked twice in a series.

what an idiot. the only reason leighton has "the best numbers in the playoffs" is because he hasn't played much and has his numbers pumped up by 3 shutouts against a terrible montreal offense.

i wonder what niemi's postseason numbers would look like if he got to play the bruins and canadiens instead of the canucks and sharks

Meh, why be so serious, it's sports and they were just having fun with it. They even said they would like Pronger if he was on the Hawks.

The most important point as to why we need to ask that question is because YOU PULLED LEIGHTON AFTER THE FIRST PERIOD OF TWO DIFFERENT FINALS GAMES. Idiot.

i mean, i giggled a lil bit, but it's pretty classless. you know it's going to be hanging somewhere in the philly locker room.

What's he going to do? Play dirty?

Seriously...if you need something like this for extra motivation in the Stanley Cup Finals, you don't belong there.

At the strike of midnight, it has been 17,951 days (roughly 1,077,060 hours or 64,623,600 seconds) since the Chicago Blackhawks have lifted the Stanley Cup in triumph. Will tomorrow bring that number back to 0? I really really hope so.

Finally watched the replay of G5 just a bit ago, and the end of WCFs again too.

To say I'm psyched and all gigged up for tonight's game [in a few minutes' time] is a massive understatement.

As an aside, I agree with those who said that first period was really awesome play by the Blackhawks. Shoot, I'm wondering how they were kept off the scoreboard for as long as they were! They were going at Leighton like their lives depended on it, literally! I have no idea how Philadelphia ended up almost evening the SOG, because the Hawks were throwing the puck at the net like crazy in the first and parts of the 2nd periods. What a great freaking game at a time it was very much absolutely needed; now let's do this and win it all on Flyer ice!!

I hope the 2009-2010 NHL season ends tonight. I like hockey a lot but I hope we get to focus on next year at about 10-10:30 (after a tiny celebration first :D )

why do i get the feeling that kyle is in the corner of a dark room in the fetal position saying "please one more win, please one more win, please one more win" over and over again to himself right now?
