Wow Comcast just showed that on Versteeg's goal (the 3rd one in the first), the Hawks clearly had 6 men on the ice. I mean it wasn't even close.

Apparantley there were too many men on the ice on our third goal. Oh well, we deserved to get away with one.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't that third goal the one on the delayed penalty call, where they pulled Niemi and scored before the Flyers got control and play was stopped ??

Figures I'd have to miss the first 2 periods tonight (working), but getting to watch Buff roll the puck in past Pronger for the last goal was AWE-SOME - [sharp's goal was verrrry sweet, too].

Going to record the NHLN-HD replay so I can see the first 2 periods as well, can't wait to watch the opening 20 minutes. Sounds like it was about as good as can be according to the comments earlier in the thread.

While I wouldn't be surprised if it has to come back to the UC - which would be awesome for the fans with G7 tix - I would love to see the 'Hawks win it in Philly just to throw it in the Flyers' fans faces. Still think that the Blackhawks are gonna win it all regardless, just a matter of which game/location it'll be done in.

You know, now that I think about it I think it was. I'd have to see the replay though.

That was the second goal, I believe. Yes, just went on my DVR and checked, that was the second goal.

Yeah, I think you're right. Comcast was stupid on that one.

I think the second goal was on a power play, but the third was the delayed call.

I can take a screenshot of the 1-0 "delayed penalty" screen with the puck sailing into the net if you want proof. I just watched the second and third goals again.

No, that's quite all right. Thanx.

We've closed out 3 of our 5 series victories since last season on the road. I see no reason why we can't do it again Wednesday. The series is following the pattern of the Calgary series last year. Win the first 2 at home, lose the next 2 on the road, win game 5 at home and when logic would dictate they lose game 6 back in Calgary, they instead won to close out the series.

I definitely like how Pronger got taken down a few notches tonight. Some really solid hits on him.

The worst case scenario now is coming back to UC for a Game 7. Obviously I'd like to see the thing get finished on Wednesday night. I think they can do it.

I seriously want to put the disclaimer that I'm not getting ahead of myself. I know the series is still in doubt and all that. But I am wondering who the heck is in the lead for the Conn Smythe right now. Toews has done almost nothing statistically in the Finals, but was the clear favorite coming in. Niemi has been mediocre at best this series. Buff had a horrible series and was hurting the team until tonight. Kane has had a good last couple of games but was pretty far from the favorite before this series. Keith? A non-Hawk? I think it would still goto Toews but if he did win it, it would almost be by default based on the first 3 rounds.

btw, Puck Daddy's blog had Pronger in the lead after game 4, followed by Niemi and Toews.

I kind of like him, as much as you would like an opposing coach in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Not much to add from a post-game perspective. That 1st period was as much fun as I've had watching such a key game with other people. Beyond domination. The speed/energy/physicality superiority they displayed is rarely, if ever seen in such an important game. Toews set the tone, what else can you say about the guy? I said before the game I expected a big game from him but I was hardly alone. Forget the points, that might have been his best game of the playoffs. Definitely Buff's best game. Hossa was the man again, Kane was a stud. Versteeg had some glorious plays.

I was skeptical when I saw Kopecky on the 1st line but Q put them together beautifully.

Maybe it was the beer, but did Q really extend/double up the shifts tonight? It seemed like the 4th line was barely out there compared to the last few games.

Still had some scares when they were out there with Sopel/Boynton.

Umm, so do 90% of NHL coaches and analysts..

Yeah, I noticed that too. The NBC guys made a good point that with the extra day of rest in between game 5 and 6, the coaches probably felt they could overextend their best players a bit.
