Everybody else starts Wednesday or Thursday, stupid fake basketball team.

I was going to ask you why the Bulls had anything to do with it when their last home game is tonight, but then I realized you really did mean a fake basketball team.

i've always wondered why the majority of forwards in the nhl shoot left-handed, while it's the opposite in baseball. i very seriously doubt most are left-handed. are they just given left-handed sticks when they start playing?

I am right handed but (used to) play hockey left handed. I think there a many reasons why young players do this, not just better shooting angles against RHed goalies. I am not sure of all the reasons why I played LHed except that is how my dad started me and I was capable enough with my LH to do it. I always thought I was a better defensive player because I could one hand the stick with my dominate hand, which is harder to do if you shoot with your dominate hand.

I'm left-handed for athletics, and I shot RH and found the same defensive benefit.

I'm a righty thrower, batter, etc...but I also play hockey righty. I agree with you, as when playing with one hand on the stick, it is my weaker hand (left)...which seems to be a little detrimental.

NHL.com has an EA simulation of the playoffs and has Chicago coming out holding the Cup....

Man I really hope they can do it. Despite various frustrations over the last couple of months, I've grown to love this team.

Edit: I should mention that they do pick the Avs to beat the choking Sharks in the first roundm before having the Hawks sweep them in the 2nd round.

Also:

EA's simulation concluded that Blackhawks' captain Jonathan Toews will end the Cup drought by scoring seven minutes into overtime for a 2-1 win in Game 7 against the defending champion Penguins. Goaltender Cristobal Huet makes 43 saves for the win.

it also helps a lot on face-offs to play with an off handed stick

Jesus Christ, I would be a nervous wreck if we went to OT in game 7.

if the kings force a game to overtime, i'm not excited for it. i don't remember what it's like to be a real fan of a team in overtime in the playoffs. i might die. pray for me guys.

Does anyone else feel like we're doomed with Melrose picking us for the title?

nobody here cares about the kings

but you care about me right? you don't want me to have a heart attack and die, right? that might happen. it's possible. i'm afraid.

i sure hope the hawks win the first round quickly. nashville is so boring and terrible.

Melrose finally got over his disdain for the Wings and picked them last year...not good for the Wings
