Don't worry Illinois has the National POY and it's not McCamey.

He's right, though. Paul is making an insane amount of shots early on.

The challenge is going to start when some of those shots aren't falling, to see if he keeps on chucking.

Yea, I was hoping for Paul to improve. So far it looks like he's improved by leaps and bounds and more than I had hoped for.

Do any of my fellow St. Louis brethren want to go to a bar tonight to watch the Illinois and Bears game?

I'd love to, unfortunately I'm in KC for work until Friday.

when he's making 3's, he can take anyone off the dribble, plus his defense is so ridiculously better than last year. he's like luther head, except he's a little quicker off the dribble.

i love brandon paul, i love him so much. too bad self didn't recruit him.

I'm going to the SIU-Purdue game on Black Friday at the Sears Center. Have fun beating us by 30.

Do you go to SIU, Flames? I'm a big Wichita State fan...the Valley is looking pretty down again. Hopefully we can put on a decent show in Maui.

I feel a little better about tonight.

When Bruce Weber learned Rick Barnes visited the Utah Jazz for a few days this year, the Illinois coach got curious. And sure enough, when the Illinois coach popped in the game tape, he realized quickly that Texas was, indeed, running some of the plays the Jazz use and that just might be an advantage -- an advantage for the Illini, that is. Former Illinois point guard Deron Williams is with Utah, and player and coach remain close. "Texas is running their stuff, and we'll see if they have the same names for the plays," Weber told the Decatur Herald & Review. "That will be interesting because we have Utah's playbook from Deron."

Normally there is no good excuse to get out coached by Rick Barnes. Now there isn't any excuse.

I'm very nervous. We are knocking on the door of national relevance again, and I just want to get through, but Illinois has disappointed me one too many times. This night has been three years in the making and I hope we do not drop a huge turd.

How did anyone not see this coming? He oozed potential last year.

i have notice that none of the UT fans have posted here yet. think basketball means anything to those guys?

I'm pretty sure I have, and there are only 2 of us. Just not about tonights game, which I am not feeling to great about. Though basketball does come 3rd behind football and baseball.

And to reference the other post. Yeah there is never any reason to get out coached by Rick Barnes. I do like the fact that he is looking to change looking at the Utah Jazz.

After last years debacle I am minimizing my expectations. Though I like freshman. If we can keep them around another year when we have a true PG we could be back towards the top 5-10.

Illinois needs to make Thompson go to his left. In all of his fade away shots he spins to his right. And we need Richmond to match up on Hamilton. Cole is leaving his jock strap out there every single time on defense.

texas played absolutely as good as they could ever play in a million years, we played lousy and it's still tied.

your shooting 50% and 7-15 behind the arc. Your not playing lousy.

sloppy and confused. making some wide-open shots, but texas has been hitting contested shots.
