If Houston makes it, are they above the lower teams we already placed?

I'd probably put them just above Oakland, myself. So we wouldn't have to redo that part.

Houston should be like a 13 or 14 seed. Outside of another win vs UTEP at home, they have done absolutely nothing, and have a smattering of bad losses.

To top that off, they entered the conference tournament at 14-15.

That looks fine to me. Their resume looks bad but C-USA is well better than any of the leagues at the bottom.

Yeah, like that. Bid theft watch: Houston leads UTEP by 4 with 2 mins to play.

Who starts games at 10:30 AM Central?

If you're a conference that wants to play a championship game on the last Saturday and don't want to get buried behind Big East/Big 12/Pac 10 championship coverage, you play early.

They've started this game at this time for years.

And mostly for the reason I stated.

For sure. I watch it every year, but, seriously, who would watch this crap over the ACC/Big Ten/Big 12/etc.?

What do we do with UTEP? All they've done is sweep UAB, who probably isn't a tourney team, and Houston has beaten em twice.

Houston is 18-15. Good wins: UTEP 2x, Memphis 2x. No good OOC wins, didn't play anyone in RPI top 60 OOC. Maybe they should be lower than above Oakland.

UTEP did squat in non conference play. I'm not so sure they're safely in.

I just moved UTEP down several spots on my list of 28 and squeezed Minnesota out - but the Gophers can jump back into my list if they beat Purdue later.

Houston put between Sam Houston State and Ohio on the S-Curve. Now only 27 teams to place today, as Minnesota is bumped back to consideration for now.

Another championship winding down: Vermont leads BU by 5 with 4 and a half minutes to play.

What is Vermont's resume looking like? Is it different enough that they'd be in a different spot on our curve?

Good God, they played two top 100 teams. Lost vs Cornell and beat Fairfield at home. Their second best win OOC was at Rutgers. They did sweep Boston U.

Nah, it's pretty similar, they even swept BU during the regular season. They just don't have a top 100 win and didn't schedule as difficult.

Temple leads URI by 17 at the half, Duke leads Miami by 5 with Singler on the bench with an injury, and Kentucky leads Tennessee by 13 at the half. Illinois leads OSU 16-15 early.

Singler is OK. He's in the game.

I don't like UTEP at all. Best win is what, Memphis? They've lost to New Mexico State at home too. It sucks for them, but their resume does not compare to others who actually had to play people.

Yet they'll still get in.

Rhode Island has fought back to make it somewhat respectable, down 11 with a minute left.

Duke has stretched the lead to 14 midway through the second half.

Illinois leads Ohio State by 9 with 11 to play.

I think Rhode Island is completely out now. I had them in as the last team in the field before today, too.
