Bobsled?

yeah, whatever, they still beat us at everything else. [expletive] em.

now when and where are the summer games and can we please [expletive] win the most gold medals at that one? [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]

China's probably taking over the Summer games for the foreseeable future. They're pathological about it.

Maybe. The games won't be held in China for the forseeable future either.

yeah, china won't be there, it will probably be the americans winning the most medals again, but the british coming out of nowhere to win more golds than anyone.

yeah or maybe Iran or something.

is it possible to have an unimpressive gold medal win? with the ridiculous amount of skill canada had, it would kind of seem to me like a letdown that they almost let USA beat them TWICE.

kind of reminds me of when alabam barely beat texas even though mccoy was out and my little brother was playing qb. felt like more of an escape than an accomplishment.

i think USA gockey definitely had a more impressive olympics than canada.

Agreed. I thought Canada's effort all tournament was very inconsistant, and not worthy of the talent on their team. They won because of their superior talent and Luongo being the 2nd best goalie of the tournament.

Suffice to say, Americans will be more proud of their silver then Canadians will be of their gold. And hopefully by 2014 US can make up that gap in talent even more.

i think the way canada looked in their win over russia was how they should have played all tournament.. or at least close to that. it felt like they were playing at like 70% of their potential the whole olympics.

Don't buy it. My philosophy is if you won a title who the hell cares? I mean if it was a semi final win then I'd see a win marred by a poor performance and how it relates to their prospects in the final. Once you've won a title nothing else matters. People can tear down the title all they want but you are the champ they can't take it away from you. Plus in this instance This particular team Canada will never have to defend their gold. They will forever be recognized as the champs. Do you think people will remember alabamas performance in 30 years or even who they played? Only the hardcore will.

did you say the same things when the cardinals won in 2006?

I have always said that if Bud Selig decided major league baseball was gonna consist of the Cubs and 29 teams of blind 8 year old girls, and the Cubs had to use all 7 games to win it, I wouldn't care. They won it and you can't take that away from them.

That would have been absolutely glorious if we could have won in OT after scoring with 25 seconds left in regulation to tie the game.

take what away from them?

"we dominated those little kids, man. nobody can take this away from us. we clearly were a better team than those little blind kids. we are truly champions today."

going to play a little homer here but Rafalski was very good in the tournament, not sure who out of those three I would take out though.

this would be easier to take if canadians could show a little decorum. they're going to be impossible to deal with for the next 4 years.

how often do you deal with Canadians?

If I did do you think cards fans gave a crap? That was my point.

i'd take out nash and put in rafalski, but behind toews.

keith and doughty were both close too.

honestly, a great game. one of the best i've ever seen. the game tying goal was the hardest i've cheered for a goal in 8 or 9 years.

If that extreme example actually took place, the Cubs would have won a major league baseball world series title. No one can take that away. It's not like they made selig do that or changed leagues just so they could say they won a title in something. They only won against whoevr they were told to play.

Obviously if it really happened Itd be a different story. I was talking in hyperbole but that would be the argument I'd make in this hypothetical situation.

The Havlat goal against Vancouver in Game 3 made me erupt. The goal at the end of regulation today was probably the loudest I've ever cheered for a goal. That was awesome.

A disappointing finish, but we shouldn't be upset at all. We proved during this tournament that we were a legitimate gold medal contender for the past week and a half. Please don't [expletive] this up for 2014, Buttman.

rafalski was great, but i noticed nash more. i was terrified every time he had the puck. i thought rafalski had more of an impact earlier in the tournament. i thought getzlaf was great too.

i am really proud of toews though. when people talked aobut how stacked canada was, they'd always talk about crosby, heatley, thornton, iginla etc..... but it was 21 year old jonathan toews that outperformed (and outworked) all of them.

he was arguably the best skater in the entire olympics, and at age 21 that's pretty special.

USA looked flat gassed, Kane, Suter and Parasi in particular. When fatigue kicks in, and there's already a talent gap, it was only a matter of time.

Rafalski also.

Parise is such a [expletive] stud on both ends. I fell in love with that man in a week and a half.

Stastny and Kessel were clearly the weak links. They gave us nothing. Parise's goal was just a moment on pure jubilation. Would have liked to have seen if Kane could create something in that 2-2 before he lost the puck.

When Crosby was carrying that puck in I was thinking "anyone but him". Then they got it in the corner, he slipped to the net and was all alone in front of Miller. [expletive].

That was such a great tournament. I wish the 2014 games weren't going to be played in the middle of the night. And the NHL better not block their players. The majority of this team would be there, many of them better.

I just hope the Hawks players took something away from this experience that they can use come playoff time, Kane in particular.
