I just discovered that comcast apparently doesn't carry msnbc HD in my area. I not used to watching hockey in sd. I forgot how hard it can be to follow. I think people who watch hockey in HD watch it differently because they can see more of the ice.

 

I know the rest of the Olympic events draw different demographics than hockey would but USA vs. Canada is not on the main network?

NBC wasn't shy about it. They have ice dancing to show, and women watch the olympics more than men. That's the reasoning.

This is such an exciting game. Hopefully the US can pick it up. They lead on the scoreboard but are getting owned right now. So glad Miller is sick back there.

What I've noticed is that the Americans are going absolutely 100% balls out on every shift. Hard forecheck, hard backcheck. Everything is max effort. Guess that gets lost in the regular season malaise for these guys.

yeah that's what I meant by different demographics. It's so funny how girls are so into it. My gf comes home and watches it and starts talking to me about it all proud of herself for being into a sport and then gets mad when i tell her I don't give a crap.

Got the fast start I asked for, wow. No commercials helps make up for the lack of HD. Thank God Miller was awesome but if they keep getting opportunities like they had in the 1st he doesn't have a chance.

Is anyone watching this hockey game in HD, or is my cable company to blame for MSNBC?

 

I'm a bit shocked that NBC would not be prepared enough for these olympics by not having all of the channels showing in HD. And if we have to have something that isn't on HD, why not curling, which doesn't require a full screen to begin with.
