I just don't understand why anyone would take any kicker over Gould. He has his issues but until he fails in a clutch game like this I consider him above all. Yeah he misses the kick in the Vikings game but he's made literally every other GW attempt in his career and there have been a good number of them. Maybe there are slightly better kickers but not enough to even question dropping Robbie.

because gould forces you to punt on your opponents' side of the field and rarely gets touchbacks.

meh. Until someone shows me how many times the 5 yards that Gould can't convert from that some other kickers can and then factors in the fact that it's like 50-50 for even good kickers beyond 50, then I don't think that hurts us very much.

The lack of touchbacks is valid but I'll take it as a tradeoff for having the second most accurate kicker in NFL history or whatever the stat is.

At least until he has a year that he falls apart and can't kick crap which it seems like all kickers do. Then I'll give up on him.

i'm not giving up on him, i'd just rather have rackers.

That's it, the Chargers' journey to chokesville is complete.

Jets defense is pretty damn good though.

Chargers are idiots for not taking their final TO before the 2 min. warning. Now they just wasted time equal to the time that one play takes.

No, not at all, just a couple seconds.

EDIT: reading your post again, you meant the actual gameplay time, in that case agreed. Sorry, I had the argument before that it saves like 40 seconds. Carry on.

Yeah, 5 seconds is about how long it takes for one play.

With the pats and chargers knocked off Im definitely predicting colts all the way. This is as much as they could have hoped to have happen. Though the NFC looks strong, the colts just barely lose. Gotta bet on Manning.

One Hawkeye has sucked today and the other one was awesome (for a play at least)

And another (Greenway) was awesome too.

Damn I feel bad for Nate though. Never any indication in college that he would have stuff like this. He never missed clutch kicks.

I was so worried Rivers and Favre would both end up in the Super Bowl. I probably would have cut myself.

You have the opportunity to punch Brady, Rivers, or Favre in the face repeatedly...who do you choose?

Any fandom aside, Cutler has the most punchable face in the NFL.

It's true.

But all the Bears fans told me in the preseason that Favre would be a marginal upgrade at best and would fall apart down the stretch. [expletive].

Sorry. I just get so few opportunities to be the obnoxious drunk guy because his team actually won and his predictions turned out right. Plus I don't think it will last past next week.

I actually think we match up better with the Saints than the Cowboys but the home/road is huge. Our defense has been SO much better at home this year and Favre was 25-2 TD/INT. We'll run it better, I just don't know if our d can limit Brees.

Every fan on this message board told you that. Except some guy who is really really pissed he was right about it right now.

I can think of several players that have as punchable of a face as Cutler.

Yes you were.

Non-Vikings fans should want them to win the Super Bowl because it's the only way you won't have 6 months of Favre coverage. If they win it all I think he's done, if they don't he's coming back. Plus if they win it all Pat Williams promised to retire and strip out of his uniform on the field. He's giving everything to the fans and walking off the field only wearing socks. So you'd have that too.

I have a hard time. Even when he played for the Broncos and I liked him I thought he had the douchiest, most punchable face in the league. Then he did those GQ photos.

why would anyone want a naked Pat Williams?

I'd much rather watch him throw three or four picks and the Vikings go down in flames one of the next two weeks and take the chance of Favre coming back than actually pulling for him to win the Super Bowl.
