Its going to be interesting how this affects his golf game. There are 2 very intriguing paths that he could go down.

 

1. Use this as fuel to work harder than ever and just eviscerate everyone in his path on his way to the grand slam this year and like 30 majors.

2. Derails him mentally and goes as far into the tank as anyone with that much talent can go. Like, what if his wife found out about this the night before he blew the PGA in Minnesota and he just crumbled and missed all those putts.

 

Or he could just stay the same, but if either of the above happens, it would be amazingly interesting.

I think he's going to really have to grind for awhile to break Jack's record. I thought that was the case before all of this came out.

 

There was a point where I thought he'd roll up 25+ majors but I don't see it happening any more. I think the tour has closed the gap a little and maybe Y.E. Yang actually beating Tiger the way he did will help others from crumbling so often.

It does have a little "methinks he doth protest too much" feel to it. When something like this goes down wives are going to give their husband's crap, and they have little choice but to bad mouth him. I feel like he's being honest and is upset though. He could easily see her as sort of a daughter.

Tiger has lost one major when being tied or leading entering the final round. I really don't think that is going to be a trend.

No I don't think it'll be a trend either but if we say that Tiger's career is roughly halfway done I think we can confidently predict that he won't win another 14 majors always having the lead going into the final round and then holding it. Even if he loses just a couple of those that could extend the time it takes for him to break the all time record by years.

I see Elin walking away with several hundred million in this deal, and in time she won't have to have her private life in the limelight anymore. If she stays with Tiger, I don't see how she has the level of privacy she used to have, anymore and the jokes will always be there. And that's ignoring how Tiger has completely embarrassed her and destroyed their relationship.

That's why these reports are so weird. It means a) she can leave him sooner B) she gets more money when she leaves him. I could see if he wanted to prevent her from leaving buying her with a big increase in money, but shortening the required time just doesn't make sense.

You know law better than most here. Can a pre-nuptial agreement become voided if the person who initiated a pre-nup turned the other person's world upside down?

 

I mean, I can see it protecting Tiger from a gold digger, but this is a situation where the initiator of the pre-nup ruined the marriage. Is there some verbiage in there that protects the other person, or do they really make it THAT one sided where he can do whatever he wants without regard for his spouse?

 

And if he's already giving her more than the pre-nup specifies, could it be that he's doing so on the advice of his lawyer? I'm thinking that if he broke some rules in his pre-nup (loophole), the judge may be less willing to throw the book at him if he's going above and beyond what the pre-nup states.

 

I doubt if the pre-nup says that Tiger is free to have sex with whomever he chooses. In that event, and if there isn't something written in there that protects her in some way, why would she sign it?

I doubt she would be getting almost nothing if she walked away. I think he is paying her hush money, and from her perspective, she is going to get more money if she doesn't talk. If she walked away, she most certainly is going to walk with more than the $5 million or whatever was reported. But the prenuputial financial details are something that has just been speculated about. We don't know the agreement. It would hurt Tiger's image if he cheated multiple times and he only gives Elin $5 million to walk away.
