Plenty of people have been saying that Hermida is not that good. He's a decent insurance policy but he shouldn't be counted on as a savior.

Plenty of people have been saying that Hermida is not that good. He's a decent insurance policy but he shouldn't be counted on as a savior.

 

And no one in here has said he's a savior and that he'll single-handedly carry the Sox to the WS next year. I don't recall any of the people praising this move for Epstein saying elsewhere that Hendry would be an idiot for getting Hermida for very little. Hermida would have been a great insurance policy for us too.

The Cubs need to give up on the idea of a "savior". It wasnt Soriano, it wasnt Fukudome, it wasnt Harden, and it damn sure wasnt Bradley. What we need to focus on is another quality bat in the lineup for the 5 spot. What Milron Bradley was supposed to be, and what I think he still could be.

the point is that people aren't just praising this move because theo epstein did it.

I dont care what anyone says, Hermida would have been a cheap option for us, considering whats out there. Maybe Jaramillo could have helped Hermida, and if not, we wouldnt have given up too much that it would matter.
