Feliz can't outrun Damon in 2009? edit: he's a lot older than I thought

I think Ted Washington or Keith Traylor could have outrun Feliz there.

How many 34 year old short stops (and I was thinking more like 31) are much slower than 36 year old left fielders?

And Traylor might weigh 500 lbs by now

Ha, a good point.

what on earth?

I do not like ARod, especially since that "fake" press conference in Spring Training where he admitted to steroids. He didn't sincerely mean it, he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and was force to admit, otherwise he would have kept doing it. And while it does seem he is about to get a ring, doesn't mean I think he should get on. But oh well, another douchebag with a ring.

suck it, A-Rod haters....

No thank you. ARod is still a douche that doesn't deserve a World Series ring. But thats okay, we all know he needs to piggyback off a team that is lead by Jeter to get a ring.

if only jeter was a cub, i'd like to piggyback him to a championship since it's that easy.

You don't want a douche bag to get a ring, yet you cheer for a team coached by Nick Saban. You must be so conflicted...

I see Joe Blanton has decided to blow this one.

In all seriousness, Blanton didn't do TOO bad as people feared he would. The Phils offense left 7 men on base, especially the one where they pulled a Cub-like in the 5th inning with runners on 2nd and 1st with no outs.

no he pitched fine, and the yankees were really lucky to score their second two runs off him. there was a walk (his fault), a perfectly-placed bouncer up the middle, a perfectly-placed ground ball through the left side, and a perfectly-placed bloop single to right.

The ground ball was perfectly placed because Jeter clutchingly placed it perfectly, on purpose.

I think Cliff lee wins one for Philly tonight and the Yankees wrap it up at home

Could be. I was thinking the other obvious storyline would be Burnett having a 2nd strong outing and being the unlikely MVP of the series.

But based on game 1 Lee could extend the series.

Burnett looks shaky.

welcome to pitchers at the end of a long season on three days' rest. c.c. was only okay last night (10 baserunners in 6.2 innings, fortunate that the home run was hit with the bases empty and a handful of sharply-hit ground balls right at infielders) and burnett is struggling tonight. after this you would have a pitcher in his late 30s with 225 innings this year, working on three days rest, and then c.c. pitching on three days rest for the second time in the series. the phillies are in bad shape but with the way that girardi has played the pitching in this series, they have at least some hope.
