I almost feel like there must be a better option on the free agent wire for you. Berrian has been awful (except for the other game against the Packers) and Crabtree has such limited upside against this matchup. The Colts only gave up 6 passing TD's all of last year and have only given up 2 so far this year (one of them in garbage time with the backup defense out there).

Between those two options, Crabtree is more likely of the two to get 7 points for you. Berrian is more likely to get double digits for you. But I would really only project 4-7 points for each of them, so it seems like there could be better.

I've been offered Calvin Johnson and Julius Jones for Cedric Benson. I'm not going to take it, but I'm going to counter Benson for Calvin Johnson and Steve Slaton. Think that's fair?

I have:

RB (Start 2)

Cedric Benson

Brian Westbrook

Matt Forte

Shonn Greene

WR (Start 3)

Andre Johnson (went to the hospital yesterday)

Santana Moss

Johnny Knox

Percy Harvin

Lance Moore

Torry Holt

Johnson is (was?) my only weekly reliable WR. Everyone else is a boom/bust matchup guy. I would be gambling on Calvin Johnson getting healthy at some point.

Yea Berrian has been a major disappointment this year. I dont know what it is but hes been damn near non-existent all year. Id go with Crabtree

Lynch vs Houston

Knox vs Cleve

Hester vs Cleve

Cotchery vs Miami(if he plays)

Need 1 and I think Im leaning towards Lynch, but that could be because of the bad taste I have in my mouth about the Bears right now.

I'm trying to figure out two positions in two leagues:

First, to fill in for Brady's bye week:

Alex Smith v Indy

Marc Bulger v Detroit

Culpepper v StL

Then, to fill in for Benson's bye:

Shonn Greene v Miami

Beanie Wells v Carolina

I'm leaning toward Smith and Wells.

Need 2:

Ray Rice vs Den (number 3 rush D)

Slaton @ Buf (number 32 rush D)

Forte vs Cle (number 31 rush D)

I've recently promised myself never to bench Rice and never to start Forte, but the differential in rush D makes me hesitate.

Forte vs. Cleveland

or

LT vs. Oakland

I seriously think I'm going to start LT over Forte.

I think you'll be fine with either guy this week. If you're more comfortable with LT, I'd go with him.

I would stay away from Indy's Pass Defense. I'd pick your poison between Bulger and Culpepper. Personally if Calvin Johnson starts I'd go Culpepper (assuming Stafford doesn't play), if not I'd go Bulger.

I would go Wells as well.

Slaton/Forte and hope for the best. I'm giving Forte another shot after benching him last week (thankfully).

I like Hester out of that group. Lynch is averaging 2.9 YPC.

Smith definitely has the worst matchup, but he's also better than Culpepper and has better weapons than Bulger. If Stafford ends up starting (sounds doubtful) then he's the guy I'll start. I'll probably wait til Sunday to make the call.

I'm commish in my league and being asked to approve Reggie Wayne (going to the current first place team) for Greg Jennings (going to the currently 2nd to last place team). The guys doing the trade are brothers in law. Seems awfully lopsided. Trying to decide if I should approve it.

Also, the guy trading away Wayne wants to trade me Hakeem Nicks for Johnny Knox. Opinions?

I don't think I'd approve it.

I'd probably question the guy who is in second to last and ask why he wants to make that deal. It might need to be rejected. It's probably unfair, but there might be a legit reason. Wayne's injury and the unknowns related to that might be enough to let it be accepted (he might play this week but he might not).

As for the other, I'd probably rather have Nicks. I don't know who is going to have more points the rest of the year, but Nicks has fantasy starter upside (if he is named a starter in NY) while I'm not sure Knox will be any better than a very good bench option. But they are really, really close so both ways are easily justifiable.

Couple of decisions to make:

RB (start 2):

Forte vs. Cle

Ray Rice vs. Denver

Gore vs. Ind

Leaning towards Forte and Rice right now.

Also, should I start San Diego's defense vs. Oakland or Minnesota vs. GB?

and lastly

WR (start 3):

Fitz (obvious 1)

Jeremy Maclin vs. NYG

Lance Moore vs. NO

Eddie Royal vs. Baltimore

Cotchery vs. Miami

Massaquoi vs. Chicago

(I loaded up on receivers one week and have yet to get rid of them, lol)

I rejected the trade. I approved it when it was modified to be Jennings and Heath Miller for Wayne. At least I feel like some value was given up that way, especially since the current first place guy has no backup TE after the trade now.

Apparently the guy that's 2nd to last wants to "have fun" and get an all Bears team now that his season is "lost". I don't know how this trade would have facilitated that.

I turned down the Nicks for Knox deal for now...Knox against Cleveland in Chicago, and Nicks against Philly in Philly...seemed like this wasn't a good week to make that deal.

He must be a really bad liar.

LeSean McCoy vs. Giants

or

Pierre Thomas vs. Miami

McCoy hasn't done anything the past few weeks, but I guess Thomas hasn't done much either. I'd go with Thomas, because Payton did say they were going give Pierre more carries this week.

Posted
I'd go with Thomas too. I read somewhere this week that the Saints passing game gets the publicity but during 2nd half of games they actually run the ball more than they pass (60/40). Obviously, they have been winning and that helps get backs more touches.
