Things i've learned from this week

Vernon Davis loves Alex Smith

Alex Smith is the next Peyton Manning

The Bears are awful

If the Saints can come back from 21 against the Dolphins, they can do it against anyone

I really hate Chester Taylor

The Packers look really good against awful teams

Miles Austin is a fantasy stud

DeAngelo Williams is such a beast on such a bad team

The Giants defense is overrated

Adrian Peterson is facing 20 to life for killing a man

The Cowboys finally looked like a decent team today.

Two great games by Miles Austin. Maybe he can be the deep threat the Cowboys sorely need. Romo finally had his ish together today too. The defense also looked like they figured out how to tackle someone.

We really need the win over the Seahawks next week as we have some tough road games coming up.

If they can manage to win 2 out of their next 3 they will be in great shape.

Yeah they took care of business today. Looked more like what I was expecting from them.

Apparently Russell got benched today and didn't get hurt.

Need Steve Smith to start getting some catches.
You could be talking about either the Giants or the Panthers here. :D

Except only one was playing at the time and there has only been one Steve Smith actually doing stuff in games this season.

Guess who leads the league in receiving touchdowns.

Vernon Davis. With Joe Montana's and Jesus' test tube offspring now back there as his quarterback he is going to have 33 touchdowns by the end of the season. Book it!

and 18 foot running long jump....not too shabby.

but can he jump out of a pool or over a car?

18 foot long jump...

- in pads

- carrying a football

- jumping at an angle instead of straight ahead

- over a guy who nicks him a bit

- without extending his legs into a sand pit for the landing

- stretching out to the side to keep the ball inside the pylon

Yeah, that's pretty impressive.

Yeah, I caught that one live. Picked my jaw off the floor. Fantastic stuff.

edit: you know, in that footage right there he kind of looks like one of those guys in a martial arts film, with the invisible wire pulling them across the room in the air.

As a Saints fan, I dunno which was cooler, that jump or Brees dunking the ball. I wouldn't have guessed that a guy Brees' height could pretty much dunk a basketball.

Didn't Bush have a jump like that in the National Title game versus Texas? Not surprising - guy's a major athlete.

Yeah he did on a nice TD run.

Cowboys and Ware agree on an extension.

Link

Ware will be signed through 2015, and the contract calls for $40 million guaranteed. The Cowboys have a press conference scheduled for 4:30 today at Valley Ranch.

Very good news. I don't think it was really a distraction for him, but it must be nice to have it out of the way. He might be celebrating at The Lodge tonight.

Not a bad place to start an evening. ;)

Apparently JaMarcus Russell doesn't think he should be blamed for the team's performance this year.

“I don’t think it’s me personally, I really don’t,” he said. “It’s a bad combination of one guy doesn’t do something right one time.”

Problem is, often times that one guy is him.
