I'd actually prefer that College does it the NFL way

HELLLLL NO. I don't know about in your conference, but in the SEC the refs are absolutely horrific.

yes, they're terrible. I meant more in an "ideal world".

I enjoyed watching Miami tonight.

More so I really enjoyed Rex Ryan being pissy. As hard as it would be to do, I think he is going to be a bigger dick than his father was.

There's been more atrocious illegal contact calls and pass interference calls this year than any year I can really remember.

Thankfully the Dolphins pulled that one out. That would've been a BS way to lose the game.

I thought the pass interference call was a good call. He arm barred Edwards.

People should realize that things look a lot more innocuous when the only replay they show is in super slo mo.

There wasn't enough contact to warrant a flag of that magnitude.

I honestly think Edwards would've caught it otherwise. He still had a good shot at it.

At full speed it definitely looked like PI.

I've come to the conclusion that Carolina needs to trade for some talented guys on the Browns and Raiders. The jump in production just for leaving those organizations seems to be huge.

Yeah you guys should get JaMarcus Russell.

So, you want Carolina to trade for Brady Quinn. It all makes sense now. :)

I like watching miami play. Henne's bomb to Ginn was awesome but Ginn's move getting off the line was also phenominal. I also thought in the NFL you cant have a guy in motion and hike the ball ala college football at the same time. But Ricky does that, is it because he is not running parallel to the line of scrimmage, i must be confused. Ive seen 2 miami games this year and it seems even on their bad run plays they get 2-3 yards.

And Joe Thomas, Darren McFadden, Louis Murphy, Josh Cribbs... The great thing about it is those teams will give those guys up for garbage.

What? You thought you couldn't snap the ball with a man in motion? Yes, you can, as long as it's parallel to the line and not moving forward.

This doesnt say that:

Legal Uses of Motion

Any offensive player who is not on the line of scrimmage is allowed to change positions in this way, meaning that running backs, the quarterback and, in some cases, wide receivers and tight ends are allowed to move under the NFL Rules for "Man in Motion." They must arrive at their new destination and be set for one for second before the snap.

Illegal Uses of Motion

However, offensive linemen who are already set in their stance and receivers who are on the line of scrimmage may not go into motion under league rules. A team is penalized if an ineligible player moves, more than one player goes into motion at the same time, the player moves towards the line of scrimmage or if they are not in the set position long enough before the start of the play.

Where did you get that from? You have to be set if there is a shift involving multiple players. But guys who are set off the line are allowed to go in motion and be in motion at the time of the snap (but only one guy can).

Im just going by what ive read. The jet sweep the Dolphins run is a bit different than what you see the Gators run. Nobody else really runs the jet sweep, or at least as much, in the NFL other than the dolphins. So maybe it is allowable but other teams sure dont use the benefits of the jet sweep very well then, or maybe they dont have the personel like a ricky to run it properly in the NFL.

Where did you read it?

I don't know what the jet sweep is, but teams put guys in motion all the time.

Yeah, I'm not sure where that comes from, but it needs a revision. The part about needing to come set for a full second before the snap is simply wrong. Teams have a player moving parallel as the ball is snapped all the time -- no penalty.

Looks like the wildcat is a valid offense with the right personnel. The Dolphins really have good people to make it work.

Two pro bowl caliber running backs is always helpful.
