man illinois is [expletive] terrible

 

I lived through the Jim Valek era, and sadly this team appears to be even worse.

 

 

I guess the only good point is Zook is a good as gone and the next coach is going to have a wealth of talent for next season.

 

Who are they going to target?

If KU doesn't button up its defense and learn to play 4 quarters, we're not winning the North.

 

You guys have the most talent, but I looked at the schedules today and my god, Nebraska's conference schedule is pretty much a joke this year.

by button our defense i meant "learn to play" defense. Can Gabbert run a QB draw? If so, you guys have a good chance at beating us. It's like a guaranteed 7 yards.

 

And Neb's schedule is ridiculous. Your guys is pretty good too, especially if Bryant is out for OSU.

Purdue was up 10-0 and now they're down 35-13.

 

Purdue's also outgained Minnesota 250-191 and Minnesota has only thrown 9 passes in the game.

Yeah, it'd sure be nice if we could split the OSU/Texas games, but we'll see.

 

I'm definitely glad we aren't running your schedule this year. Oklahoma/Neb at home, @ Texas, neutral Missouri, and Colorado, Tech and KState all on the road? No thank you.

You're forgetting the Bears will do something stupid and rehire Shoop or Crowton.

 

If you've been paying attention, there are several posters on here who advocate keeping Turner because the next guy might be worse. I don't really think that's possible. Turner is a bottom-5 offensive coordinator in this league. While I do advise caution in hiring the next offensive coordinator, keeping him employed simply because "the next guy might be worse" is terrible logic. Fire him now, promote someone to interim in the meantime, and work it out in the offseason.

Turner is actually an improvement on Shoop and Shea. But yeah, he blows.

I forgot about Broderick Green transferring. Another stud TB who is no longer with USC.

 

So out of the classes that landed Moody, Gable, Johnson, McKnight, and Green only McKnight is playing.
