Haven't seen the game yet, but they did what they were supposed to do against a doormat. Tomorrow is huge.

It started out looking a lot like last year's ridiculous blowout at Edmonton, as the Oilers barely belonged on the ice. The Hawks went flat and things got mildly interesting, but they seemed to at least control the game throughout.

How much of the Hawks going flat do you believe is saving themselves for the playoffs? I think we've been seeing a little more of this lately, with teams coming back in the later portion of the game after the Hawks have a big lead.

At this point I can accept a little throttling to save players. It's all about the playoffs for this team. But I don't know if that's really what is happening.

I think it has a lot more to do with playing every other night (when not playing back to back), being on a long trip, having a comfortable lead (by score and standings). I doubt they are saving themselves specifically. But I bet Q's not getting on them all that hard because he's got that in the back of his mind.

So it looks like with 2 games left on their road trip, the worst the Hawks will finish is 5-3 (I just can't see them losing to Carolina). That's fairly respectable for such a long tough trip, although I'd obviously be happier with 6-2

8 points is okay for this roadtrip.

10 points would be great for this roadtrip.

12 points would be incredible for this roadtrip.

I think Q's measuring stick was 8 for okay, and double digits would be great.

So, let me see here:

1) Lose to Vancouver

2) Go out and blow off some steam on the town

3) Win the next game @ Edmonton.

Keep partying, guys. It seems to work 8-)

Couldn't it have been

1. Go out and party in Vancouver

2. Lost to Vancouver

3. Don't go out in Edmonton

4. Win again

Vancouver is supposed to be so awesome for hockey players.

Gametime. How 'bout another 7 spot?

NHL Network picked this one up and is using the CSN-CA feed, so Eddie/Pat are blacked out on Center Ice. Oh well.
