that didnt really jump out at me as any worse than every other call he makes

+1

This really wasn't that bad of a call compared to some of his other calls.

Yeah, maybe I'm just used to Judd's overreacting to every thing that happens, but that didn't seem any more outrageous than his other calls. If anything, he was able to tame his enthusiasm there.

I'm used to a 2 outs bases empty situation in a 4-0 game....

"and here's the 1-1 pitch, and...HE SWINGS AND MISSES!!! STRIKE 2! WHAT A PITCH RIGHT THERE"

It's even funnier, too me, when he does it on a grounder to short or something. Strike outs are at least moderately exciting.

When the bases are loaded and the game is on the line maybe, otherwise a strikeout in the 5th really isint that special

he is sooo awful. it's awkward between he and santo, and after a couple months early on of sirrot being more timid he started doing this weird, fake laugh thing at whatever ron would say. he interrupts conversation for every single pitch, and his calls are so chip carey over the top these last couple months. his line of questioning, too, ugh. "who was your first roommate when you were in the big leagues ron? got any good stories?" ron just kind of shrugs him off. you can tell he's prepared and is eager to please, but man, just be yourself.

Judd is an atrocious announcer. His voice is awful, he doesn't know how to do play-by-play and it's so clear the only (only) reason he has the job is because of his last name. Wish WGN would man up and hire a young, up and coming broadcaster who understands the sport and has the skills to be a professional broadcaster. There is a wonderful play by play announcer in Kane County who deserves the break, and is 10x the broadcaster Judd is.

Man up? Really?

But yeah, Judd is godawful.

Reminds me of the OLD school Haray...

"It's a long deep fly ball it's going back way back it could be it would be and it's.......caught by the second baseman..."

He has a really hard time modulating his voice. When he first comes on he screams the first words. In fairness to him Santo is probably pretty tough to work with. Anyway, Sirrot sucks bad. He seems to do little preparation for his one inning and only wants to get Santo to tell old timey baseball stories. He'd be much better finding his own voice and perspective to the game.

I hate how he overreacts on every thing. When a game isn't on TV and I'm forced to listen to the radio, every fly ball seems like a home run while he talks.
