If Upton could hit like Milton and play CF, I would be all over it.

Yeah, but if he could do that, Tampa wouldn't be trying to move him.

yeah, that was my point about the comparison to Milton

I would not mind BJ Upton at all. I know there are flaws with BJ, but the man is still only 25 yrs old, so it's not out of the realm for it to click and he realizes his potential. BJ seems to me to be the kind of player who needs a chang eof scenery. And the Cubs have talked about getting younger and more athlethic, and that fit BJ to a t. But again it would come down to what TB would want for Upton.

Wasn't Upton awesome in '07 and pretty good in '08(while injured)? Seems like people are writing him off a bit prematurely.

I'd love him on this team.

Given the general attitude of the board lately, are you terribly surprised people are having trouble looking at the big picture?

Yes and the comparison to Corey is silly.

Upton averages 70 walks a season. I don't think Corey could get 70 walks in a season where in he started every AB 3-0.

The real question on Upton will he ever consistently develop that power he flashed in 2007.

I think the fact that he is only 25 to me is worth the gamble.

I wouldn't mind having him, but Tampa is going to want an arm and a leg for him most likely. The last thing we can afford to do is blow up our farm system for Upton.

The comparison I was trying to make was highly thought of prospect who is basically flopping. Guess I didn't word it well.

good deal for both teams. Rays get some decent prospects for a struggling pitcher, Angels get a guy with a lot of upside, will have to wait and see how it plays out I guess but I don't think you can fault either team for this deal.

i think sean rodriguez is from the brandon wood school of being a prospect for 10 years.

still, rodriguez might be a decent player and has enough versatility to be a valuable utility guy. strikes out too much though, and i would have concern about holes in his swing.
